Friday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) was optimistic about the prospects of President-elect Donald Trump being able to follow through with his campaign promises of a border wall.
Gohmert told “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy that there has been money already appropriated for the wall and that he was excited about the prospects of Trump “actually following the law.”
“It’s amazing what you can get Congress to do when you lead and push them in the right direction,” Gohmert said. “And actually, you know, we had appropriated money during the Bush administration that didn’t get spent for the wall. So, yeah, it’s going to be great to have somebody that’s actually following the law.”

Yes, that too! These worthless turds live to spend, but only on what they want to spend it on, not for the benefit of most of us. Trump is right, we need term limits, coupled with serious cuts in benefits and the elimination of ANY pension benefits for serving as an elected member of Congress.

And that is most likely $54 billion in completely untaxed earnings. So I’d say a new law is in order that tells the “envios” folks like Western Union et. al, that unless the individual can show prof of citizenship (like say a passport) that the money is “taxed” and collected by the transferring entity at a 50% rate. Right there you’d have $27 billion the first year and “Mexico” would be paying for the wall without writing us a check. Personally, make me President and I’d destroy Mexico’s economy if they didn’t not only pay for the wall, but also clean up their enforcement of the border on their side.
I’m not sure how money of the orginal appropriation is still available. They have
spent some on various type structures after the orginal legislation was amended in
2007 and provided for other type barriers rather than the double fence structure.

That is exactly what happened & created the current status of the WALL. Congress voted for it & funded it. The EPA said that the environmental review showed the wall would ‘impact the environment’ too much.
I’ll bet a $50 bill that NO one with any juice at the EPA EVER went down there & walked the trails that the invaders are following & actually SAW the damage THEY are doing.

Yes, build it now, submerge it in an infrastructure bill that benefits everyone but Democrat asphalt merchants [*hurk*], and do the collection later. Hell you could simply put attach a toll on inbound Mex highway merchandise to start.
Just have a goddamn plan to finish the thing in 12 months so the decrease in illegals is statistically on full display for the mid-terms...

In DC “appropriating” isn’t the same as “authorizing”.
Appropriating money doesn’t make it available to spend.
I do expect a LOT of money to be authorized for the wall and enforcement.
