President-elect Donald Trump's threat to sink Iranian ships was "just a joke" according to one of the country's generals.
"The person who has recently achieved power, has talked off the top of his head! Threatening Iran in the Persian Gulf is just a joke," General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri said, according to The Times of Israel.
He added that presidential candidates in the United States "eat too much sugar" during campaigns, referring to a Farsi proverb about talking nonsense.
Trump said in September that Iranian ships attempting to provoke America "will be shot out of the water" if he were president.

The ground is so thick with consultants and contractors that most defense dollars stay right here in the Montgomery County, Fairfax County, Arlington County area - the BIG BLUE Swath through Virginia.
You want planes, ships, guns, missiles? Suickers! We don't make things in D.C. How about some more power point view graphs, or some more manpower studies to prove that our bureaucracies, corpororate and government and understaffed to handle all this workload of spending all these defense dollars.
Trump just needs to nuke it. All of it.
