The Message Of Donald Trump's Stunning Victory
Investors Business Daily ^ | 11/09/2016 | Editorial

Election 2016: To say that Donald Trump's decisive election victory is a stunning development is the understatement of the century. This election makes Truman's surprise win over Dewey look positively pedestrian. The repercussions are enormous, but so are the opportunities.

First and foremost, Trump's victory is a thunderous rebuke to the legions of pundits and armies of pollsters who said it couldn't happen, and the mainstream press that declared all-out war on his candidacy. In the days leading up the election, every poll except the IBD/TIPP tracking poll showed Hillary Clinton winning by a wide margin in a four-way race. Newspapers declared that Trump's chances were minimal, if not impossible, while running wall-to-wall hit pieces on Trump. Pundits acted as though the election was over.

Their blindness had more to do with ideological and cultural biases than anything else...

Trump's win is also a gigantic thumb in the eye of a political establishment...

...if nothing else, Trump has finally, mercifully pulled the plug on the long unseemly, corrupt Clinton machine that has for too long tainted the political process. Good riddance...

...What does a Donald Trump presidency mean for the country, and what responsibilities does this election bring to his opponents and supporters? What priorities does Trump need to focus on?...

...Republicans will have to work hard to keep Trump focused on those conservative priorities. Ending Obama's eight-year economic slog has to be job No. 1...

That means achieving three things as quickly as possible: getting his tax cuts enacted — particularly on the corporate side — overhauling Dodd-Frank and getting rid of ObamaCare.

Republicans will also have to work hard to temper Trump's anti free-trade instincts...

On foreign policy, we live in dangerous times. Obama has left the country weaker...

“It WAS NOT a surprise to me in anyway.”

We were told by the media and establishment talkers that it was ‘stunning’.

I can’t tell you how proud I am of our citizen voters.

As one FR poster said, her speaking fees just went to zero.

I believe the Clintons will insert themselves into media assets to maintain their ‘royal standing’

I think this time the Clinton Crime Family is going to be held accountable. Their crimes are egregious. Trump isn’t likely to forget, and I don’t think Wikileaks is done with them. The election was just the start. The Clintons are going to get their earthly cumupance.

...and I don’t want to have to pay for CNN in my cable bill anymore - ever. I want an a-la-carte system

But But But that might damage CNN's income so badly, why that might even DESTROY them! Oh, the vapors the vapors...

I agree with all your points, especially #3. You are the first person I have seen that gets that. I have been thinking that for awhile.

It is hard to imagine 6 figure speaking fees to Billary. They no longer have access to the loins of America, which they so ruthless carved up and served to the highest bidder.

The message is that we’re doomed.
Hillary! won the popular vote. Through immigration, legal and otherwise, the Democrats have changed the demographics to favor them. Furthermore they have cultivated dependency and the “Free Stuff Army” vote. The only reason Hillary! lost is that these demographics are concentrated in urban areas in states like California (61% of the vote went to Hillary!).
The other thing we learned is that our worst enemy is our own Federal Government - 94% of the registered voters in DC voted for Hillary!.

If you take away the fraud, Hillary did NOT win the popular vote.

I’ll be happy when we can get rid of fraud, but I’m not holding my breath.
But the ‘Pubbies DID win with a record turn out. Usually large turn outs go against us.

Republicans vs Democrats vs Indies that voted. Compared to prev years. Our hopes were pinned on the idea that most polls were weighted using 2012 D+10 turnout or whatever, and we here figured that was wrong. Just wondering what the actual turnout numbers were.
