Mick Jagger, the legendary front man for the Rolling Stones, hinted Wednesday that he might perform at Donald Trumps inauguration, after Trump closed out his victory speech with the song: You Cant Always Get What You Want.
The chorus became a subliminal message arguing for Trumps candidacy: he may not be ideal, but hes the only one:
You cant always get what you want
You cant always get what you want
You cant always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find You get what you need
Trumps rallies also featured other Rolling Stones songs, as well. One of the most memorable is Tell Me, a song about longing and return that begins with a small acoustic riff. It played at rallies while supporters waited for speakers to begin...

They asked Trump to stop using their music, actually.

I’d love to have the Stones play “Waiting On A Friend” for Trump. It is a classic New York City anthem, especially if you watch the music video that was filmed on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

My understanding is Trump paid both the ASCAP and BMI fees, so was entitled to use the music. Rolling Stones are listed with ASCAP.

Jagger was an early anarchist and leftist...his subsequent "politics" have always been erratic and shallow, he was a druggo, a sex-obsessed individual and performer with a string of 8 (known) assorted wives, mistresses and multiple offsprings from them.
He has as much chance of performing at a Trump inaugural as has Miley Cyrus, Beyonce...or myself, for that matter.

Saw the Stones a couple of weeks ago. Keef still has great tone, but is slipping a bit. Mick can still bring it. Ditto Wood and Watts. Great show. Not sure they’re right for the inauguration. At least we’re done with JZ and Beyoncé.

I doubt it - the Stones have been asking Trump not to play their music at his events (though legally, they have no standing to do so). In any event, much as I love "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile on Main Street", the Stones have been a nostalgia act for decades now, and the sight of Mick Jagger and Keith Richard these days is not for the faint of heart.
