Immigration was the only issue. Immigration is the easiest to fix. President Eisenhower proved 65 years ago that if you actively enforce immigration laws then 10 illegal aliens will voluntarily leave for every one that you deport.
Meanwhile, Obama proved that if you refuse to enforce immigration laws then illegal aliens will come flooding through the gates.

Agreed. And because it is easy to fix, if you realy want to, and because without fixing it none of the other problems will be solved, it was the only issue that mattered. To me, anyway.
