Donald Trump Is Elected President in Stunning Repudiation of the Establishment
The New York Times ^ | November 9, 2016 | MATT FLEGENHEIMER and MICHAEL BARBARO

Donald John Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States on Tuesday in a stunning culmination of an explosive, populist and polarizing campaign that took relentless aim at the institutions and long-held ideals of American democracy.

The surprise outcome, defying late polls that showed Hillary Clinton with a modest but persistent edge, threatened convulsions throughout the country and the world, where skeptics had watched with alarm as Mr. Trump’s unvarnished overtures to disillusioned voters took hold.

The triumph for Mr. Trump, 70, a real estate developer-turned-reality television star with no government experience, was a powerful rejection of the establishment forces that had assembled against him, from the world of business to government, and the consensus they had forged on everything from trade to immigration.

The results amounted to a repudiation, not only of Mrs. Clinton, but of President Obama, whose legacy is suddenly imperiled. And it was a decisive demonstration of power by a largely overlooked coalition of mostly blue-collar white and working-class voters who felt that the promise of the United States had slipped their grasp amid decades of globalization and multiculturalism.

Donald Trump should ask lame duck Obama to hand over the pen and phone.

< WOW Travis County TX went Red. Maybe there is hope for Austin yet...naw I guess not.

Need to boot the alternative lifestyle mayors in Austin and Houston from their perches. They create special hazards for our children and threaten both our religious liberty and freedom of speech. They don't want to "get" this and can't be reasoned with. It will happen soon enough. No more paying $$$$ to attorneys for judgment because they wouldn't bake them a cake. Especially when they can demand that we remove nativity scenes and force chaplains and pastors to come under fire or be fired for stating their beliefs when they do so much to help people in crisis for mere bread crumbs.

The embarrassment is how much of the American public would gladly vote for him.

I was asking the same question this morning. Much has been made of the disarray in the Republican Establishment caused by Trump’s campaign and election victory. But what do the Democrats do now? There is no “bench” to which the Dems can turn. O’Malley got no traction in the primaries, Bayh was trounced in his Indiana Senate race, ...

Hopefully President Trump will be holding a pen in his hand while he takes the oath of office so he can immediately cancel every single executive action obama signed into law.

Expect Obama to finish his term as Clinton did: Pardons, regulations he couldn’t afford to live with himself, and land-mines.

I stopped reading right there.

Actually, if I were Trump I would make a deal with Obama: "I'll pardon you for anything that comes out - as long as you promise NOT to pardon Hillary or her minions for anything that comes out."

Obama might actually go for that. :)

Oh, that was the question all the lib media were concern trolling about for about a week after Obama assumed office. Even Gibbs was asked the question in the press briefing room.

That might ultimately be enough to flip Arizona, as the California Cheaters will now bring their polished vaudeville act to Phoenix.

And in a wonderful and most delicious irony...I have to say that it was the spectacular New York Times website which kept me informed throughout the evening. Seriously.

They did an incredible job and when about 10 pm central they said Trump had like an 85% chance of becoming President ....as his numbers in Michigan kept sustaining....and I was like...”this is happening!”

So....BA HA HA! Thank you New York Times!!!!! Now eat crap and die!

The fact that it is still not finished here just shows that thousands of illegals were fraudulently registered and voted this cycle. And yes, too many Lefty Californians. I have also been worried that Obama seems to be settling too many of his ‘refugees’ in red areas of the country. I would love to see a new and legal voter registration drive. Purge the dead and root out the illegals on the list. Please.
