Voting Experience - How about yours?

When the alarm went off this morning, my fingers didn’t hunt for the snooze button. I began my morning ritual as if it was any other day – but it wasn’t any other day. I was genuinely pumped at the prospect of voting. I’ve never been this excited to vote in a presidential election (I’m sorry I missed the opportunity to vote for Ronald Reagan). I even have a photograph of myself standing next to George H.W. Bush, but my memories of that moment don’t compare to what I felt this morning.

I left the house earlier than normal and arrived at my polling place within two minutes. The parking lot was full and curbside parking was scarce - this was unusual. Normally, it is easy to find a spot in the parking lot. I did catch someone leaving and managed to get a spot without circling around. When I went inside the church, the lines were longer than usual. Fortunately, my precinct table only had four people in line at the time. It took me all of five minutes from the time I entered to the time I fed my ballot into the machine. I felt good when I was finished and was hoping that many of those still in line were there for the same reason as me – to vote for Trump.

Our voting process seems very smooth and efficient.

I showed my ID.

It was checked against registration ledger.

I signed the ledger next to my name.

I was handed a ballot where I was required to fill in the squares next to my picks.

I fed the ballot into a machine that tells me that my vote was recorded.

I was handed an “I Voted” sticker.

In case you are jealous of our voting procedures (ID) and wonder where this occurred, I can tell you that I did cast a vote for Rand as well as Trump.

From the beginning, I have been confident that Trump would win my state, but that would never stop me from casting my vote for him. I am optimistic about his chances locally and nationally. I still have hope in the American electorate. I think I will leave it there for now. No doom and gloom. I am excited at the prospect of a Trump presidency. If he accomplishes only half of his stated agenda, he will put us on the path to a better future for America.

I’m in the country, central PA. I’ve been voting here since 1984. Today I voted at 10 am, as usual. They always mention what number voter I am andits always below 50.

Today I was voter # 113. Hopefully PA will come out in large enough numbers to defeat the standard vote fraud from Philthydelphia and Pittsburgh.

My wife and I voted yesterday.

We vote via absentee ballots and don’t trust the mail.

We drop our ballots off at a drive by drop box. The box has a rat and republican watching what happens. We make sure our ballots are dropped in the box by one of the attendants, before leaving.

In past years, there have been minimal cars in line. Yesterday, there were 3 cars ahead of us and three behind us.

Wish I had $5 for every vanity posted today.

I wish FreeRepublic got $5 for every vanity today.

That's what Jim has asked:

Vanity on vanities

This is a news forum. But I sure am seeing a lot of vanity posts lately.

You know our readers generally frown on vanities (unless exceptional in quality) so if you feel the urge to post yet another run of the mill vanity, please resist it.

Or, in the very least, be sure to submit a donation along with your vanity submission.

Thank you very much.

-- Jim Robinson.

Folks, save your breath -- it won't do any good to complain to me. If you don't like Jim's policy, take it up with him.

Or, just send FR a donation.

I voted absentee last week, however in Ohio I drove past 4 republican voting polls and they were packed and I drove past 5 democratic polls and they were not! appears to be no enthusiasm for Hitlary, Ohio has picked the winner 28 of the last 30 elections.

Voting in a very liberal county in Florida.

There were almost no Clinton supporters out in front, but there were a ton of Trump people! It was great!

I saw three guys in line to vote wearing red caps. No writing on them of course, but we know who they are voting for.

For Florida I didn’t see a lot of hispanics in line. I don’t think they are as enthusiastic and the media wants you to believe.

Florida is DEFINITELY going for Trump today!

Wow. Excited about voting and all I get is a snarky reply from a newbie. Remember, if you don’t have something nice to say....

(copy/paste from the Trump Family Train thread)

Just got back from casting my ballot in northcentral PA (PAlabama!) for Donald Trump & Mike Pence for President & Vice President of the United States !

The poll workers all said that turnout so far is YUGE, and in this very conservative part of the state that's VERY good news for OUR TEAM.
It certainly means lots more ammo for shooting down any fraud coming out of the Filthadelphia sewers.

In my little village, one must:
1) show valid ID
2) sign the voter roll book to ensure one signature/one vote
3) only then is one given the card to activate the ballot machine

Imho, this procedure, or something very similar should be legally mandatory EVERYWHERE !

Hopefully President Trump can add that to the list of Swamp Draining Priorities.

Keep the faith, FRiends.
I sincerely believe that all this good karma simply MUST have a positive effect on today's battle !

At 6:30 am, it was busier than usual, but well below capacity. I was something like #8 at my assembly district.

In and out in about 10 minutes in my little corner of Ohio at about 7:15 this morning.

Funny thing though, everyone there showed ID and even signed in to vote, yet no one felt discriminated against. I don’t get it.

Oh, darn it! I’ve got to go pick up my ID! First, I’ll check to see if I need one. Pretty sure I will.

I am in the state of California (North Mexico) Ssn Francisco Bay Area (capital of Mexico and ghetto).

I VOTED TRUMP-PENCE 30 mins ago just now.

Turn out a bit higher than 2012. They asked for no ID. They cheer out loud “first time voter” - I heard this once while voting. Older lady seemed to me to be Trump monitor. She came to help me when voting machine that reads a paper ballot made beep. Mostly whites voting, follwed by about 1/4th blacks, all the blacks were female no males, whites mixed male female, a few Hispanics but only male Hispanics no female.

I was vote number 18 of 2 machines so about 36 votes total as of 8am, 2012 I recall I was vote 6 of two machines at 715am. So in that sense, no real uptick.

I voted NO on end of death penalty and NO to legal pot. No “youths” seen voting, average age was about 40. I am 60.

My district is too boring to really be an indication of anything... we usually have about 330 voters out of I think about 391 registered voters... we consistently have the highest turnout in the county if not the state based on percentage of registered voters who show up and vote every election.

We are also have the highest median income in the county if I am not mistaken as well. Of course this is largely because we are such a small borough.. Its only a little over 1 square mile of land and I believe has 199 homes.

I was voter 49 this morning at 8am which is fairly typical... Entire voting place was placarded with Hillary stuff, but one of our resident families is a very active memory in the county Democratic party, so this is fairly par for the course.

This district used to be 100% republican, in fact there is local lore that in the 1960 election 1 person voted for JFK and the mayor at the time ordered the Chief of Police to figure out who the traitor was. Now, I’d say its probably 50/50... maybe a little more D.. the movement of the college educated to D over the last 50 years shows that colleges do not educate any longer IMHO... but indoctrinate.

My district isn’t a good indicator of much of anything IMHO... but turnout seemed about the same as every other election I’ve been part of. We all know each other, with less than 500 total residence and under 200 homes, it literally isn’t a raukus place.. I will say yard signage in general which is no real indication, but in my neighborhood seems to be down across the board.

But anyway, that’s my boring experience... About the same as always... but my district isn’t going to be indicative of anything... its the Philly region, and turnout in the T that have my interest... I expect T turnout to be INSANE.. I expect Philly region to be way down for D’s... as well as around Pitt, Erie and Harrisburg...

Time will tell.. but if Trumps visit to Moon was any indication.... He’s going to blow PA out of the water... He had a bigger crowd show up and wait hours and many couldn’t even get in and still hung around outside the hanger for hours.. than Hillary managed in Philly with 2 aging rock stars, and 2 presidents....
