The 2016 presidential election is bringing family feuding to another level for many across the country and in South Florida.Janette and John Paton in Plantation are supporting Hillary Clinton while their son, Sean, is supporting Donald Trump.
Video at site.
Smart kid.
guess this kid would like a future and leave the plantation!
Thanksgiving meal tension should be at epic levels this year.
It’s just me and my wife; we have no family within 1,000 miles. We both like Trump and both despise Cankles. Thanksgiving in our house will be quiet and relaxing.
I learned my lesson in 2008. I haven’t discussed politics with the folks back home since then. It got so nasty, that some of them still don’t talk to me.
At least everyone in my own house is pro Trump. That’s good enough for me.
Fair notice:
1. My parents moved from Cleveland to Plantation when I was 6 mos old.
2. I spent Christmas there last year with an aunt and uncle. I got a lump in my throat when, on Christmas Eve, Santa rode — with police escort — in the back of a Utilities Dept pickup and visited every single neighbourhood, including the one I was visiting. I ran out and gave Santa and his two very hot elves a case of Budweiser. Chalk it up to the kid in me.
3. It’s a good place. It was a great place to grow up. I skipped so much school it would make your head spin. But I rode my bike to Port Everglades to visit the navy ships in or I hit a park on the southeast corner of the airport and watched planes take off— jealous that I was stuck and they were going somewhere.
4. Why is a conservative kid living with his parents? I left home 4 days after graduating high school and have never gone back. The first time I made a mortgage payment and looked at how little I had left, my father became a genius to me. How the hell did he raise 3 kids, have a nice home and 2 nice cars? I obviously did not have my sh*t together...and by comparison, he obviously did.
5. Why did two socialists from Scotland move to a low tax jurisdiction? Don’t raise a kid in Florida and pretend it’s Denmark. It’s tough. Everybody is from somewhere else, including several foreign countries. These parents are exhibit A in stupid leftwing types who think the planet is filled with kumbyyah types who hug each other and share the wealth.
The Clintons?
From the headline, I thought it was going to be about Democrats leaving the plantation and voting for Trump.
