One would be better off composing a five to ten word sentence about exactly what the issues are in this leak.

Here’s an exceptionally bizarre idea...I had read earlier that Carlos downloaded Humas Mail when she finally crawled home. What if his sexting crap was a way to blow the whistle? Honestly he couldn’t walk into the local FBI, CIA, Homeland security. He was the beard for a woman who is potentially a spy among other things. Wasn’t his first go round about sexting total strangers? Who f*s up their whole career like that. At one point earlier he said he’d sexted more than 20 and less than 100. He WANTED to get caught doing something that couldn’t get swept under the rug,
He got lucky sexting a 15 year old in another state because that was the only way law enforcement would look into his stuff. He had to know that.

They could have downloaded via IMAP and then copied those to a PST file. That way IMAP is out of the picture and the SERVER is out of the picture.

She wouldn’t have used IMAP for any of the emails on clintonemail.com, since that was an Exchange server. However, if the server was offline when the emails were deleted from the server, yes, the local copies would remain on the laptop unless manually deleted there.
Few copies with the NYPD in case D.C. tries to fold as well.
What ever is in there will come out.

Well, Exchange uses its own specific system for syncing mail, so I think that is what they are trying to say, but yeah, it’s not a protocol.

There are really at least 3-4 accounts in play here. There is Huma’s state.gov email, which is accessible only on secured computers and devices, so it wouldn’t have been accessible directly on her personal laptop.
There is also her clintonemail.com account, which would have been accessible on the laptop through Outlook or some other client, if she ever set it up on there.
Then, there is her yahoo account, which, if set up on a local client through the IMAP protocol, would have synced with her computer as discussed in the article.
Finally, there is Hillary’s clintonemail.com account, which Huma did seem to check for her, so that might have been set up on the laptop too.
