Trump may get over 20% of the black vote.

Go back and look at the 2008 and 2012 results for Obama.

2008: 69.5 million votes. 2012: 66 million votes.

Bush in 2004 took only 62 million votes.

At least five million of these 2008 votes were black votes who rarely go and show up to vote. So in 2016? It’ll surprise me if Hillary can take 58 million votes, and at least 30-percent of blacks who do vote....will vote for Trump.

This will leave the DNC in an odd review. Do you in 2020 with a unknown black guy or gal in an empty suit....to repeat the success of 2008?

Every time you see a supporter of the candidate who supports tearing babies to pieces, you are looking at the face of a future resident of Hell.

Agree about the too late part.

Hillary had well over two years to build a solid rapport with Democratic constituencies.

The smartest woman in the world thought this drudge work was unnecessary and they would just come out for her if she snapped her fingers.

Well they felt taken for granted and they saw Hillary wanted a coronation not an election.

She wasn’t willing to earn their votes and they’re repaying her contempt for them in kind.

It takes a lot to burn bridges in your own party and Hillary accomplished something few Republicans could dream of - running a campaign without her party’s base behind her.

This is not how to win an election.

The interview goes on to talk about the Obama's stumping for Hillary and the turnout to those events. Wimes says they only go to see THEM, not to go support Hillary.

I see the same lack of enthusiasm for her at work too. I work with one die-hard Bernie supporter, and a lot of us are Trump guys, so we find a lot of common ground in bashing Hillary often. The black guys used to jump into these political conversations. Now they don't even care. They say nothing to defend/support Hillary....nothing. They act like they don't have a horse in this race at all.

I know these guys aren't going to vote Trump, but I can see them sitting this one out.

Personally I was shocked when she selected Tim Kaine as her running mate. I would’ve thought that she had the white douche bag lawyer vote all sewn up...and would have selected Cory Booker to keep the inner city folks in line.

Hillary reminds me of that undistinguished Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell who was so bad she wiped out her Progressive Conservative Party and lost her own seat in Parliament in the Canadian election of 1993.

Campbell made fun of Liberal Leader Jean-Jacques Chretien’s accent and less than inspired speaking style. Didn’t win over Canadians. She was out of her depth and was unceremoniously booted from office in short order.

Hillary looks to do be doing that to the Democratic Party. They’re stuck with her and while they won’t disappear, they will be at the lowest level of influence in a generation. Because she was the best they could get and she was far from the best they could get.

FReepers — it ain’t over until it’s over. Go out and vote and encourage everyone who will vote correctly and discourage those who won’t (meaning morally — tell them that C is a bad choice, even for a lib etc)

I want Hillary to lose, but I’m at odds with this Dem. Lobbyist. She says Hillary wont get the black vote because she didn’t campaign enough directly to the black population. I saw Hillary pandering all year long to blacks and hispanics secondarily.People laughed at her phony “I love Hot Sauce, and keep a packet in my purse!” comments. She faked ebonics at black churches all over the nation.

I don’t see what else she could have done. I think this Dem lobbyist (Whimes?) feels like most people in that she just doesn’t like Hillary, and is almost eager to see her go down in flames. Maybe this lady thinks if Hillary loses big this time, perhapss she will finally go away politically, and move out the way of younger Dems who also have ambitions.

I think the reason African Americans are not voting for her is because she and Bill were NASTY during the 2008 about AA’s. I mean some of the stuff they said would curl your toes. Bill said that just a short time ago, Obama would be serving me coffee (or something like that). The two Clintons are big time terrible racists. The media doesn’t discuss it, but the AA’s remember.

What I said before is she didn't have the luxury of being Barack Obama. We are not as enthusiastic about seeing the first woman president as we were about seeing the first African-American.

She is absolutely correct. The democrats gravely miscalculated when they felt they could keep winning the presidency election after election by offering the "first X" and then the "first Y," and so on. This is because there is a pecking order to minority status. Because of this, blacks would feel no automatic obligation to vote for Hillary, and Hillary, if she was smart, would have known this.

"WIMES: No. What I said before is she didn't have the luxury of being Barack Obama. We are not as enthusiastic about seeing the first woman president as we were about seeing the first African-American. So, no. I don't think in 7 days she'll get out there and all of a sudden, magically we'll say, 'hey, Hillary Clinton!' It's not going to happen. She had an opportunity to get out there and do the things she needed to do and she didn't do it. "

Not with Amish men, anyway.

Hillary may have figured that since she was tight within the inner circles of AA political groups she had nothing to concern herself over. Plus she had millions to spend on TV ads and the media in her hip pocket.

What wasn’t expected however is her utter lack of personal campaign skills. She is a third rate show on the stump, stiff, insincere and rehearsed; and it plays to the black audience like Pat Boone singing “ Isn’t that a Shame” at the Apollo

Clinton did meet with BLM leaders recently. But that was largely seen as a desperation ploy.
