Democrats should ask Clinton to step aside
The Chicago Tribune ^ | October 29, 2016 | John Kass

Posted on 11/01/2016 6:16:57 AM PDT by Prolixus

Has America become so numb by the decades of lies and cynicism oozing from Clinton Inc. that it could elect Hillary Clinton as president, even after Friday's FBI announcement that it had reopened an investigation of her emails while secretary of state?

We'll find out soon enough.

It's obvious the American political system is breaking down.

Ah, but the strawberries,
that's, that's where I had them,
they laughed at me and made jokes...

For anyone unfamiliar with the Tribune and John Kass, he's a columnist with the paper. This is not the editorial board of the Tribune that's saying Democrats should ask her to step down. Some news outlets misunderstood where the suggestion was coming from.

Kass is absolutely correct. Hillary should step aside for "the good of the country" but she is completely amoral and will only be stopped by forcers beyond her control. Our great danger is that she still has svengali-like control over the minds of many women.

Hillary Clinton was a stunningly bad selection. But, so were Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney. At least the Republicans were American, patriotic and healthy. Of those criteria Hillary is only technically American.

That crew was playing for the Washington Generals.

Romney, with his stellar resume, should have mercilessly gone after Obama's record with Obamacare and "the Arab Spring"/"Benghazi 9/11" but instead, he meekly focused on policy. Instead, we got four more years of "change."

Combine this with the New York Times putting a picture of Hillary on the cover with 3 to 1 Trump signs behind her: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3487559/posts

The media is willing to throw away it’s credibility to get Hillary elected, but they see that very soon might be tantamount to beating a dead horse.

She’s out there begging her low info numbskull voters to hurry up and “early vote” before any more of her crimes are exposed.

...but instead, he meekly focused on policy.

The media would have savaged him for "using his background of wealth and privilege to attack all African Americans by proxy."

But he should have done it anyway. Trump has stayed on offense (not enough, but much better than his hapless RINO predecessors) and they haven't been able to get away with such shallow arguments against him.

Agreed and agreed. He had the "bully pulpit" in that first debate. Instead of going for the attack he let the moderator shut him down. All for nothing. He was still pilloried by the media.

They won’t. They’re in too deep now. Party is more important to them than character.
