(CBS News) WASHINGTON - Former GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann and four other conservative members of Congress are charging that people with ties to Muslim extremists have infiltrated the federal government.
Sen. John McCain denounced the allegations Wednesday, calling them "sinister" and saying they "need to stop."
Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has been singled out.
The State Department has responded to the allegations with very harsh language, calling Bachmann's charges "vicious and disgusting lies."

I never doubted her. Plus, McNuts' buddies were/are ISIS.
McCain has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer and is probably a mainstay on the Clinton payroll.
He should have been put out to pasture YEARS ago.

If Muslim extremists had infiltrated the federal government, surely we would have seen signs: toppling stable governments to give the land to terrorists under a cutesy name like "Arab Sprint", sending weapons to Islamic terrorists, fast tracking Muslim males aged 15-30 into our country with no background checks, keeping our borders unguarded, and perhaps even bowing to Muslim leaders. How much of that have we actually seen?
She is right. No one is paying attention. Huma Abedin has direst ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and no one seems to care.
I think Bachman may be right, and we have the usual suspects chiming in with their phony outrage. It’s really fear. Fear of getting caught in their dirty dealings.
There’s a newer “Jihad in America” - I DVR’d it last night.
It shows the islamic connections in America - many of which we already knew - MSA, CAIR with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
It’s 2 hours - I watched about 15 minutes while flipping channels.
Not that any of us were surprised; those of us who saw the original “Jihad in America” back in 2001.
And Bachmann was treated abysmally here when she ran for president. I had to hit the abuse button many times due to disgusting photoshopped pictures of her. She’s a decent woman who is often right like Sarah Palin is often right.
McCain is a talking turd.
