Attorney General told FBI director James Comey NOT to send letter to Congress about bureau reopening the investigation into Hillary's emails because it could influence the election outcome

Attorney General Loretta Lynch advised Comey against sending a letter to Congress about the FBI's reopened investigation into Clinton's emails She argued to Comey that he should follow the Justice Department's practice of not taking actions that could influence the election Attorney General Loretta Lynch advised and objected against FBI Director James Comey's move to send a letter to Congress to inform them about the reopening of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server.

Lynch argued to Comey that he should follow the Justice Department's practice of not taking actions that could influence the outcome of a presidential election, The New Yorker reported on Saturday.

Comey broke from Lynch, who objected to the move along with the Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, and independently sent the letter to Congress on Friday, dropping the bombshell about the restarted investigation based on newly discovered emails, rocking Clinton's campaign.

Comey's supporters argue that he had to break away from Lynch and act independently on the issue due to her compromising herself when she had an impromptu visit with former president Bill Clinton late into the investigation earlier this year. Comey broke away and sent a memo to bureau staffers explaining his decision to notify Congress He wrote that the FBI would not 'ordinarily' inform Congress about its ongoing investigations But said he noted he felt an 'obligation to' given that he testified repeatedly in recent months that bureau's investigation was completed On Friday, he sent a letter to eight Republican lawmakers regarding the reopened investigation - rocking Clinton's campaign

According to one radio pundit the reason he reopened the case was because he had told Congress the case was complete.

When the new batch of emails was found, he had no choice but to reopen since the case was not complete and to notify Congress of that fact.

Whether or no there was something significant found or not is not germane. But “a significant finding” makes for nice spin. Don’t hold your breath, HRC will skate again.

“Attorney General told FBI director James Comey NOT to send letter to Congress”

If the Attorney General knew Comey was sending a letter, you can be sure Hillary knew the letter was coming too. But Hillary and the media tell us Clinton didn't learn of it until the plane landed - it was a surprise!

Just on general principles, whether they like Trump or not, I think the vast majority of Americans will be voting to get these corrupt people out of power once and for all. All of them.

Huma was likely sending classified info to foreign nationals.

We don't know yet, but I'm wondering whether Huma may have used her Yahoo email account as a digital "dead drop" where she could transfer sensitive US Dept. of State documents and emails to others, who just needed to know her account password (so that they could log in via a web proxy which would hide their identity and IP address, and view the emails there, without even having to have Huma forward them to anybody).

Well, well, her little visit backfired. Liberals never understand unintended consequences.

Cap Weinberger was indicted on June 16, 1992 Weinberger Faces 5 Counts In Iran-Contra Indictment

You missed the second shoe dropping:

Charge in Weinberger Case That Caused Furor Before Election Is Thrown Out

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11— A Federal district judge today threw out a one-count indictment that was brought against former Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger four days before the Presidential election and created an uproar when Republicans asserted that it had contributed to President Bush's defeat.

In his ruling the judge, Thomas F. Hogan, said the new charge violated the five-year statute of limitations in the Iran-contra case and improperly broadened the original indictment that was filed in June against Mr. Weinberger. The one-count indictment was returned by a grand jury on Oct. 30.

Lynch met with Bill Clinton. Comey sent a letter to Congress.

I’d say Lynch is the one leaving the impression that she’s interfering in an election.

Four years ago, former Attorney General Eric Holder formalized a policy not comment publicly about politically sensitive investigations within 60 days of an election in a memo to all Justice Department employees.

Yeah, Comey screwed the Donks!

If only he had announced an indictment referral when he held that presser 126 days before the election, the 'Rats could have nominated a winner at their convention. Right, Plugs?

All's well that ends well.

Heck, that’s their whole strategy to try to oust Sheriff Joe.

Hypocrites.

But for Comey to do this against Lynch and policy strongly supports the theory that the white hats in the FBI did NOT destroy the laptops as they were told, discovered criminality, kept the laptops so as not to obstruct justice, and have James Comey over a barrel with the potential for obstruction charges against him if he does nothing to actually see justice done...
