There is NO WAY that these people are turning out to vote for Hillary.
The demographics and Maryland political history in presidential elections will tell you all you need know. Trump doesn't stand a chance in Maryland and anyone who says he does knows less than Nate Silver.
dang... don’t mess with granma...
there are a lot of conservatives in maryland that never vote because it really didn’t make a difference...
now it can and they will.
I actually think that enthusiasm for Trump (not Maryland per se, but in general) is so high that a lot of people might be very anxious to ‘early-vote’. I think this enthusiasm is much greater than any ‘anti-Trump’ enthusiasm.
(There might be a very big turnout today especially, because so many people in the Eastern part of the state don’t work on Fridays, and it’s a good day to get it done.)
They must be keeping the Hillary signs safe inside their homes.. I saw a few Love trumps hate signs over last few days, but mostly brave souls with trump signs
I voted on the Eastern Shore and it was a scanable paper ballot.
QUESTION>>>>>When early voting takes place, do they immediately tally those votes? Are the results released to the public? Or whom? This would then show the cheating factions what they need to do turn the count, right?
Two counties - PG and MONT - will decide the election in MD. 75% went to Bama in 2012. Trump will have to make a serious dent in that to win!
A few days before the 2014 election, I took a ride through Annapolis, down West Street from one end of town to the other. I was flabbergasted to count more Hogan signs than Brown signs — in Annapolis! That’s when I came to believe that Hogan could actually win. And lo and behold, he did.
I think Trump actually has a shot at Maryland this time. Long shot, to be sure; but a shot nonetheless. I certainly intend to do my part, though I’m waiting until November 8 to do it. I don’t like early voting, so I don’t partake in it.
Trump cannot lose almost 300k votes in PG County and expect to win. He also has to win Baltimore County, and keep the deficit in Baltimore City to the sub-150k range. A big, big hurdle, but there is a promising component to this. If AA turnout is down nationally ~20%, *and* if Trump is really in the 15+% range, then this is possible. The margin in PG would drop dramatically, and the net loss of Balt City and County (which has a hefty % of AA voters) would be more manageable, and could be countered by a couple of any of the Republican mid-sized counties in MD.
All I remember about PG County prior to the 2008 election was that it felt like you were driving through Obama’s campaign headquarters (signs, bumper stickers *everywhere*). And he won that county by ~90/10. I don’t get out that way anymore, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that margin was more like 70/30, with a 20% reduction in turnout. There are a lot of families out that way, and a lot of middle class blacks. I don’t see them doing for Hillary what they did for Obama.
Hogan worked hard. There were signs in my area of PG County, which I would have just written off, if I’d been any Republican candidate.
Trump has worked hard too; I can’t think of a candidate who has campaigned as relentlessly as Trump has. That gets peoples’ notice.
It could happen!
Ping!
Presence of touchscreen machine was disappointing. That one machine would enable unscrupulous election officials to manipulate the vote completely undetected.
Go, Maryland!
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
"Honey, quit being selfish.
"I want a woman president."
Dream on . . .
Thank you, Katya. So to be clear, there is a yard sign gap in Maryland? Amazing!
I trust yard sign estimates more than computerized voting machines.
Maryland is a mixed bag — some counties use paper ballots. If there’s a way to switch to paper, great! Important to pressure them after the Texas incidents.
If Maryland votes for Hillary [supposedly], it would be interesting to find out what kind of vote-counting methods put her over the top.
She should be losing there. Early turnout means energy, and energy means yard signs.
You are the rain on my parade...
But things are turning
What part?
All of it.
I have two pages of ballot here in wicomico!
Studying up before I vote...
What a stupid question.
