Texans turned out in record numbers on the first day of early voting for the 2016 General Election. Harris County led the way with over 67,000 ballots cast.
“I was shocked,” Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart told Breitbart Texas Monday night. “We prepared for a large turnout by increasing polling locations and the number of machines in key locations, but we were still surprised by how many people actually came out.” Stanart said his team reacted quickly by sending additional equipment to places were poll workers were becoming inundated with voters.
Harris County had 67,471 people show up to vote in person in the county’s 42 polling locations, Stanart said. An additional 61,543 people mailed in absentee ballots as of Monday’s poll closing time. Monday’s in-person total eclipsed the 2012 record by more than 20,000 votes (47,093).
Harris County is not the only one breaking turnout records. Dallas County election officials reported 58,337 first-day in-person votes in a report obtained by Breitbart Texas. That bested the 2008 first-day record turnout of 34,415. Tarrant County also set a new record with 43,149 turning out to break their 2012 record of 30,133, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
State Senator Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) encouraged Texans to continue to show up at the polls.
“There is an old saying that every nation gets the government it deserves,” she said in an email sent out to voters. “We are in the midst of a referendum in this country, between those who seek to promote liberty and those who seek to stifle it. Plenty of men and women have died to give you the right to vote, so do your part. Make your voice heard, or suffer the consequences.”

I was thinking about that very same thing too... but I really think they’ll be out on Election Day in droves but if the lines are too long and their enthusiasm for Hillary is not there they’ll just turn around head home and let the other guy vote for her ..in another words pass the buck! Let’s hope this is the case!!

I don’t think the Democrat enthusiasm is really there at all. WikiLeaks plus OBuggeryCare Premium skyrocketing is a lethal blow to her campaign.
Are you going to give that living person vote to the roughly 25% of the folks in this town who aren't eligible? Oops. Checked the census numbers. Make that 24%. Want to cut fraud? Do away with mail voting.

It is hard for me to believe that Hillary supporters won’t go to her rallies, but will stampede in to vote for her.

People flocked to rallies to see the first black man elected for President because they wanted to be part of history. There were millions of bumper stickers and yard signs for Obama. He won. Twice.
People are not flocking to see the first woman to be elected. I am not seeing that many bumper stickers and yard signs for Hillary. In Toledo, Ohio, where I was born and raised it is a Democrat town-Union town. One of her rallies was held at the downtown train station lobby. It is not that big. In contrast, Trump held rallies at Seagate/and Huntington convention center which hold approx 8-10K people.
Trump will be in Toledo next Thursday again, at Seagate.
I am seeing lots of Trump/Pence yard signs.
My sister was at Trump Lakeland rally few weeks ago, waited in line for hours, said about 10K people there.
Are people just flocking to Trump rallies and not going to vote for him? I don’t think so. I wouldn’t go to a rally where I had to wait 2 hrs in line, get there 2-3 hrs before hand and not vote that person.
I have to believe that the Trump will win and Hillary will lose.

Good information - it would be helpful to know the Dem/Rep leaning of these counties - one news source reported today that voting in one Hispanic area was up 99% over 2012 - if it was an area where only 8000 have voted so far, no so bad - if an area where 80000 have voted, troublesome......

I expect the huge number of mail in ballots in Houston (Harris) are indicative of some level of democrat fraud.
As a rough key - El Paso is overwhelmingly Mexican and Democrat, as are the border counties of Hildago and Cameron. Harris and Dallas lean democrat. Travis is typical university town hard left. Travis leans liberal republican. Collin, Denton, Williamson, Montgomery and Fort Bend should be solidly republican.
Interesting. Florida Dems likewise reporting a 99% upshot of Latino votes. IOW, doubling the total 2012 Latino vote on the first day.
And Dems claiming 133,000 mail in and absentee Latino votes—on the first day? How would Dem party operatives know 133k mailed votes were from Latinos?? Unless Dem operatives filled out the ballots and mailed them?

(Of course saner countries would limit the vote to net taxpayers or property owners or some generally acceptable definition of citizens who have 'skin in the game'.)
