Being registered to vote and actually voting are two different things. It looks more like a lack of a mechanism to purge the voting rolls.
Anybody over some age... say 92 or so... their vote should be either pre- or post- verified. Over 100... definitely.
I might be dead. My teenagers propose scenarios like this all the time. I just had a very tedious discussion with an 18-year-old who floated the theory that I’m a vampire.
It should be a simple matter to cross-reference voters rolls with obituaries. Counties should either take people off the list or (better, I think) they should put a mark by the name for 5 years so that the voter is clearly identified as deceased.
If John Doe at 100 Elm Street is deceased, and if John Doe at 100 Elm Street walks in and tries to vote, they should just take him to the judge for sentencing and then to the prison for his mandatory 3 years in jail. Why wait?
Anyone casting a vote in the name of a dead person should themselves be rendered dead.
it would be easy to have an alert go out if somebody tries to vote under the name of a dead person per go out if somebody tries to vote under the name of a dead person person.
That's what gun violence, Zika & wilding clowns will get you.
Reap the whirlwind, yo.
They just keep voting on!!!
Liberal answer = “Well, people are living a lot longer these days.”
That SHOULD be reason enough to demand positive voter ID to vote.
These lib judges that continue to strike down laws requiring it know full well that illegals and dead people are voting.
The US population is about 325 million, with about 75% 18 or older. Let's assume about 50% are registered to vote. Let's assume the death rate of 823/100k applies to all age groups. Therefore just about 1 million voters (1,003,031) will die annually, or about 2,750 per day, 20,00 per week, or 84,000 per month.
So, OF COURSE there will be thousands of dead registered voters. This is no surprise whatsoever and is to be expected.
The real issue is, "Why are there millions of dead voters?"
And "Why is the system broken to not immediately remove deceased registered voters?"
Do the vote republican? No? Then what’s the problem?
Well we keep hearing stories about this. Is something being done with these illegal votes, like throwing them out?
It is quite easy to get records of deaths, often called “vitals”. It is quite easy to match these records to voting rolls and other readily available records and settle 98% of such situations. The discrepancies mostly exist with recent deaths as sometimes the government is as slow to register deaths in the vitals records as it is to purge voter roles.
In 2013 I left an IL county where a TeaParty County Clerk maintains the voter rolls. I registered in GA. I wrote the IL county clerk that I had moved and please strike my name, She continued to send me voter registration cards for the IL primary and 2014 general and 2015 local.. and for the 2016 primary .. But so far not for the 2016 general.
When I left IL I also informed my insurance agent of my situation. I just received an email today from her. Same story. She totally ignored all the information from 2013 to 2016 I have provided. In contrast, the home office of the insurance company (American Family) is not at all confused.
So this situation is common. But not true of everyone.
No doubt killed by Global Warming. Minorities and Children hardest hit.
