He was 92.
Not the RF so ok I guess. Apparently no limits to free speech in this forum.
But that other thread about him is (I think)
Yes ser you are correct. The thread started by a Catholic in the RF. Merits a perma ban IMHO. I was castigated twice just for mentioning he who should not be named in the RF. Of course kind ser you mentored me at the time I would have unflattering mail from a mod for my transgressions. Yet at the time I was a green Freeper. :-)
Great Basic Gospel tracts. As young lad I took them as entertainment. However given my fire and brimstone Catholic upbringing they made me think quite a few times of my eternal destination. After the This Was Your Life tract, I in quiet prayer asked God after Mass, “is there more Lord I can do for you? Show me what I must do.” Two weeks later my best friend’s mom saw we were having too much fun playing practical jokes on the girls in the neighborhood and directed us to those Protestants who were holding their annual vacation Bible school. Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ, my prayers were answered that summer.
Thank you Mr. Chick for the tract which started me thinking.
A few years later I came across an anti Catholic Chick tract. It immediately unnerved me. Most of my family was still Catholic and out of obedience to my parents I still went to Mass with them and attended my new church. Those tracts from what I see here hurt a lot of people. For that IMO Mr. Chick missed the target. You don’t convince someone their religion is wrong, you preach the beautiful Gospel and the Holy Spirit does the Work.
Jack Chick was human. Regardless of our walk with Christ we are not perfect in this pilgrimage on earth. I believe the anti Catholic tracts hurt the core ministry of preaching the basic Gospel. Yet we can choose what we read and many here have pointed out the gems he produced.
>>> I think thats an oblique reference to freemasonry.
Oblique indeed, if so. Thank you for answering my question.
That is a very interesting read even to someone with no dog in the fight. Thank you for posting it here.
I can see you've been trained in the black art of freeping by an incorrigible man whose should have long ago been banned for leading yet another impressionable green youth into a life of argumentation and obstinancy.
Howdy, Ma'am.
Would you like the TRUTH about Jesus and His Church?
I can see a bit of a comparison there.
3 Little Pig-like
Or even biblical...
1 Corinthians 3:11-13
For no one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each mans work.

Indeed. :)
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him. He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
His mom will appear MANY times; just to keep us straight.

Heh, well see I know just enough about handyman stuff around the house that even when laying brick or other stone works, you’ll use at least a little scrap lumber. Or when pouring a concrete walkway, as I have done. Heck, we used a broom at the end of that job to apply texture to its surface - after using a straight wooden board to make it even with the timbers that formed its borders.
However, the post I originally questioned referenced “poor guys being unwittingly initiated into Satanic cults for some free lumber,” and I decided then and there that if it involved lumber being given out...
I wouldn’t mind swearing fealty to our very own Basement Cat. She lays in doorways intimidating the dogs (to her obvious delight) and gets demanding of treats that she sometimes pukes right back up on the sheets. Far as De Evils, she’s a tolerable Mistress of my fate. Especially for free lumber. ;o)
I have now spent too much time scratching my head over the connection (or not) between masonry or freemasonry and wood. So much so that I have remembered the firebox in our fireplace needs new fire-caulking and then seasoning in case we are reduced to burning wood to keep warm this coming winter. Dangit, yet another handyman task on my list.
And also to you! Great little tract!
Thank and same to you, belatedly. Been busy dealing with the atheist over at CF.
I will look you up over there.
