New York, for example, was once the largest state in the U.S. by population. It peaked at 47 electoral votes in 1932, and maintained that position through the 1948 election. It has been dropping consistently since then. It is now ranked #4 in population among U.S. states, and has had only 29 electoral votes since the 2010 census.
Pennsylvania's decline has been even more dramatic, from a high of 38 electoral votes (1912-1928) to only 20 today.
The Republicans just have to get smarter about winning these fast-growing states that have seen an influx of migrants from other places in the last few decades -- like Florida, North Carolina and Colorado.
If the results of the election are changed by faithless electors, all bets are off. There is no way that even our current police state could stop what would be in the cards at that point.

The term "Popular vote" is bull shit. It should mean whoever the majority votes for wins. Hopefully at some point in this epic struggle against corruption, this BS "Electoral College" bit will be abolished along with these super corrupt political PACs, et al.

Trump needs to add another plank in his contract with the Voters: Dual national citizens are forbidden to work in the federal government and forbidden to contribute to political campaigns.

You’re assuming a LEGIT election. I don’t think that is what Soros is saying. There is nothing in the Constitution nor in federal law saying Electors have to vote with their own party, and only 27 states have state laws requiring such. The majority of Electors are actually free to vote in any manner they choose, regardless of popular vote. They vote along party lines now only as a matter of custom, not law.
If enough Electors can be bribed, thus Soros’ “paid Electorate”, then the popular vote can be effectively nullified. Trump could win the popular vote be a wide margin, but still lose a fixed Electoral Vote. The Dems know it would cause in immediate uproar among the “little people”, but would eventually be accepted and forgotten. It really isn’t much of a risk in their point of view.

Bingo! Electors are legally allowed to vote their conscience. Remember people trying to get electors to change their vote so Algore could win in 2000. Electors in all likelihood are party people/elites. They know who they want to win. So if it is at all close in electoral votes, I’m certain Soros has some in his pocket who will say they refuse to vote for Trump because — blah, blah, blah, even if Trump has won their state.
If there are any kind of shenanigans and Congress doesn’t certify the Electoral College vote, I’m not worried about Obama staying in there. “Speaker” Ryan will just declare himself president and take over until “everything” can be sorted out.

Was wondering...even though he’s not entirely ‘there’ (mentally or politically)....what harm would it do to have somebody from the Trump Campaign work Gary Johnson to endorse DJT....drop out of the race...motivate his supporters to cast their votes DJT in exchange for some kind of ‘gain’ or recognition of him (similar platform issues) in the Trump-administration?
