Cruz did give initial response on 2005 tape, but IIRC he did not comment on change of support or not in his statement.
Also the OH gov was last against trump in the primary. I think it was all on one day he said he was still going on, Cruz finally dropped out then OH gov end of day or next morning said he was out too.
At least Cruz knows how to put his finger in the wind. :-)

If Cruz was a lesser man he would say Trump should die by his own sword. Trump’s followers (incudling the “good Christians” here on FR) were plenty willing to let media-hyped rumors destroy Cruz but cry when the same thing is about to happen to Trump.
Cruz is a bigger man. He sees that this is a Winston Churchill time for America. When the chips were down, at the bleakest moment, nobody cared whether Churchill was a saint or a sinner (or, like all of us as Scripture says, both at the same time); what matters is that he will fight. For better or for worse, Trump is today’s Churchill, and Cruz recognizes that as do a bunch of us.
Those who keep trying to pick at the still-fresh scabs from the primary back-stabbing only serve Satan’s interests.

I saw that. He looked humbled and I hope that wasn’t just a photo op. I’ve posted elsewhere about Cruz that when his help was most needed it wasn’t there and when it was much less needed it was, so that one could wonder if it was done more for Cruz’s own political career. But he is apparently sticking with Trump through the current scandal the lying press is pushing, and that’s good if genuine.
