I wouldn’t put it past them to use pictures of Trumps rallies to claim the huge #s for Hitlery.
Funny you had trouble yesterday with FR.
I just had the weirdest message from microsoft.
I didn’t trust it and didn’t do what it said but it threatened to shut down my computer to protect microsoft.
Has any one else had this happen?
Hi LG,
No, Haven’t had any messages from Microsoft and I’m on a Microsoft Surface running Windows 8.
You were right to be wary of the message - I don’t recall getting anything like that. And, IIRC that’s not something they normally do. I got a call a few months ago from what sounded like a call center in India and the guy told me I had to update Windows, he would do it for me and it would cost me $x. I asked why I would want to do that when I could update for free. He got into a big sales pitch (almost but not quite argumentative). He and I went back and forth for a few minutes, then when I told him I was perfectly capable of downloading sw from the Internet and I didn’t think he was offering any services for the $$s, he went into a bigger sales pitch. I finally cut him off when I said I used to work for Microsoft and know this is not the way they do business, he hung up.
I suspect you have automatic updates from Microsoft turned on - make sure you do as it helps prevent security and other issues.
I didnt trust it and didnt do what it said but it threatened to shut down my computer to protect microsoft.

No, but this morning I did get a "spam" email from the Trump campaign or something claiming to be the Trump campaign. It was marked as possible spam by my mailbox hosting service and placed in my "greymail" folder for my inspection. Unlike some Trump emails that are marked as spam by hostile web hosts, this one actually did look suspicious. No subject, etc. I suspect it was legitimate but incompetently composed in ways that can trigger my ISP's spam detector.
And the weird message "from Microsoft" sounds very suspicious.
Good morning LG,
The Microsoft calls are being made by the same fraudulent group making the IRS calls. 700 plus individuals from India were arrested a few days ago. Too many people were suspicious with the India accents, so the switched to recorded calls. The FCC advises to hang up.
Sad the way these people take advantage of innocent people. I forget how many millions they were making off of these scams.
