It makes no sense that Team Clinton/Media/GOPestablishment would want to bring up the Trump tape, considering the history of BJ and Hillary regarding the Bimbo Eruption Unit, etc.
Hillary opened the topic last evening and the mods joined in. Instead of running for cover, Trump turned it around on her/them. His claim that his tape was ‘words’ while BJ’s problems were ‘actions’ stunned them.
How dare a Republican candidate challenge and confront? Republicans are supposed to fold and capitulate. Trump didn’t. He took it straight to them, forcing them to drop the subject as fast as possible.
I think that the debate opening was actually an attempt to shut down the topic and it backfired. IIRC, the first question was something like “Kids are watching, so don’t you think it’s a good idea to be careful about what you discuss.”
I think that was meant to be a warning to Trump to shut up about certain topics. I think the idea was that the media had been plastering the airwaves with Trump’s vulgar remarks for the past 24 hours or so (and would continue to smear him with it) but that any discussion of WJC as a rapist or Hitlery as a defender of rapists was off limits because, hey, we’re a dignified Presidential debate. And heaven forbid that people who hear all leftwing news all the time might tune in and hear a different side during the debate.
