How you interpret Fridays jobs report depends on whom you are voting for next month.
If youre a Donald Trump supporter, you probably focus on job growth slowing relative to last year, the rising unemployment rate, or broader measures of unemployment that show an unusually high number of workers who want full time work but can get only part time work. If you are a Hillary Clinton supporter, you choose to emphasize the historically low level of official unemployment, rising wages, and a rising labor-force participation rate.
But while these metrics are useful in evaluating the economy, they are not necessarily great predictors of who will win the election. Back in May, Fortune looked at which statistics are actually best correlated with victory for the candidates of the incumbent or opposition parties and found that Hillary Clinton had the advantage. Now that we are just a month away, its time to check back in with the statistics that best indicate what voters will decide on November 8th....

Interesting analysis, BUT if I look at Unemployment Rate I also look at Labor Participation Rate. Those are the able bodied people that gave up looking for work and therefore are not unemployed. I believe you need to add those together to get an effective unemployment rate. We have one of the lowest Labor Participation Rates (search Dept of Labor) in the past 30-40 years.
So an unemployment rate of 5% might sound good, it is really lip stick on a pig. Life is much worse.
Part Time is considered employed too. Employers dodge the insane price of Health Insurance by offering part time work.
Buck up little cowboy
I DID read the article. The three RANDOM Economic factors they picked to explore are rated two for Trump, one for Der Hildabeast.
Hardly conclusive.
I love Donald and will vote for him no matter what but
if he doesn’t stop wasting precious time with the petty fights and stay on topic..
Frankly, I’m getting scared.
He needs to hit Hillary hard. NOW.
He needs to hit her on Benghazi, the emails, open border policy, ask her how she and Bill went from ‘dead broke’ (her words) upon leaving the WH to a net worth of over 100 mil today- and about her VOWING TO INCREASE UNVETTED MUSLIM ‘REFUGEES’ BY 500%!!
Thanks for posting that!
