Major Hurricane Matthew Briefing Situation Overview
...THIS IS NOW A WORST CASE STORM SURGE SCENARIO...
Catastrophic Damage is Anticipated for Coastal Areas.
Major Hurricane Matthew is still expected to move DANGEROUSLY CLOSE the Florida First Coast and Southeast Georgia Coast Friday through Friday night into Saturday with catastrophic impacts expected along and near the coast.
A major hurricane has not impacted this area in 118 years, since October 2nd 1898. There is NO local living memory of the potential of this event. If a direct landfall occurs this will be unlike any hurricane in the modern era. . The western eyewall is expected to move along a portions of the coast with sustained winds 115 to 125 mph and gusts in the most affected areas! Winds will be higher in high rise structures in Downtown Florida possibly strong Category 4 to Category 5 intensity!
Some of the lowest barrier islands will be completely overtopped with large battering wave and life threatening flooding. Barrier islands are likely to breached and it is extremely possible that new inlets will be cut in the worst affected areas.
Please, Please heed the advice of public and emergency management officials. 40 people in New York and New Jersey did not heed these warning during Sandy and died in the storm surge! This will be a MUCH Greater surge than Sandy had along the New Jersey Shore!
Water main break in Hollywood
Maybe that’s it. Hurricanes are seasonal. I was just wondering why it seems that the last few weeks before a national election, always seems to bring a heavy out of control storm or hurricane. Or there will be a ‘sudden and precipitous’ drop in the stock market, as in 2008. I may be listening to too much Alex Jones to even ask such a question. Still

Wrong way on a highway to Hades.
Might be His wrath.
Concrete yes, ground level no. Have been through a few super typhoons in Japan and they have several story buildings that do just fine in 150 plus/ mph winds. The Japanese know what they are doing. Power goes out yes, but with devices charged up with movies and snacks it was actually pretty fun.
Looked that way doesn’t it!
I’m a Hurricane Hugo survivor when it hit the island of St. Croix in 1989 at a CAT 5.
No hurricane will ever be worse. Bush Sr. had to send US Troops and declare Marshall Law & Curfew for 6 months.
Includes but not limited to Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, etc.
My family evacuated from Jupiter and Lake Worth. Glad they did but still can reach them. Watching the local news from there..they got hit with huge rain bands in both places but not the devastating winds. So far, I’m relieved and thankful. Prayers up for friends in Stuart/sailfish point, Hobe Sound and points north. Stay safe, all.
See at 1:28. That’s what happened to Hugo when it hit St. Croix’s mountains.

On the news, they said “the President” had declared a State of Emergency in Florida. I thought Governors did that?
Katrina had all Democrat mayors, gov, city officials...they never got people evacuated in time...even with Bush pleading with them.
Thank god we have a Republican Gov..Gov Scott..who is showing true leadership.
Of course, Trump will somehow be blamed.ha.
I think Hildebeast should immediately fly down there NOW and help.
The NRA is running Ads against Hillary on Fox right now.
PFL
Watching CNN now. Their banner says Matthew is a Cat 4 hurricane. Their banner also says “worst hurricane in over a century”. I guess there have been no Cat 5 hurricanes over the last century?
