During Tuesday nights vice presidential debate, Sen. Kaine (D-VA) interrupting Indiana Gov. Mike Pence for the umpteenth time accused Trump and Pence of violating the Constitution by blocking people based on their national origin rather than whether theyre dangerous. Fact check: FALSE.
That is not unconstitutional. That is current U.S. immigration policy. We prefer some countries over others. That is constitutional, lawful, and logical.
There is no U.S. constitutional provision providing equal protection for people based on national origin certainly when they are not yet in the United States!
Kaine went further, saying that it was unconstitutional for Donald Trump to keep them out if theyre Muslim. Trump has since softened that stance somewhat, and now wants to keep people out from terror-prone countries. But regardless, the constitutional protection against religious discrimination does not apply to people who are not yet immigrants, residents or citizens.
In fact, our current immigration policy discriminates against Muslims because it does not permit people to bring over their spouses from polygamous marriages, which are permitted in many Muslim countries. That kind of discrimination is constitutional and lawful.

To Tim Kaine: As much as you want it to be, the Constitution is not a suicide pact.
Titles 8 and 18 of the Immigration and Nationalization Act (the titles these agencies enforce) deals with aliens not US citizens. So national origin is not just an element it is the fundamental element for enforcement.
Kaine is a light-weight, if there ever was one.
Our current immigration law WAS WRITTEN to discriminate by national origin.
If you are from India and apply for a Green Card you are going to wait many years longer than someone who applies from Chile. The law is written that way.
Liberals want to invite in the world’s poorest, uneducated, and unskilled people so they will become government dependents and vote DemocRat for their whole lives.
In all the hubbub over immigration, it’s been forgotten that there are a great many educated, easily employable, hard-working, European and Asian would-be immigrants waiting patiently throughout the prescribed process.
obama and hillary don’t want ‘em, and won’t tolerate ‘em, because they have independent minds and might vote Republican.
Our current immigration law WAS WRITTEN to discriminate by national origin.
In fact, Mr. Kaine, to NOT discriminate on basis of national origin, is unconstitutional. Why do you think the Constitution (when it used to be upheld) for example, required one to be a Natural born citizen to be a candidate for the country’s highest office? Could it be so that some filthy Trojan horse from an enemy nation doesn’t become empowered to bankrupt, corrupt, and destroy the nation from the inside-out as its supposed president?
Man people don’t get it. To the democrat socialist/marksist the contents of the Constitution is not known to the low info voter. If an elected official says its unconstitutional to a one of their sheeple, then by golly it is. However, I would have come back to Kaine and said only the SCOTUS can determine whether something is unconstitutional and its not for you to say. Then I would have said “We’re even, now!” However I couldn’t help laughing everytime Pence smiled. He was laughing inside all night last night at the lunacy that was perpetrated by Kaine.
A citizen of Syria does not have any Constitutional rights whatsoever. Only American citizens have Constitutional rights.
I was referring to Syrians living in Syria.
Repulsive. This false talking point is pure poison for Trump’s message among the dimbulb voting public.
Did Pence get a chance to push back at all? Did he let Timmy get the last word?
If Hillary uses this to beat Trump over the head with in the next debate and he isn’t prepared to counter with facts the election WILL be over.
