The Obama Debt Tracker: nine trillion bucks of national debt under Obama in less than eight years
United States Department of the Treasury ^ | Wednesday October 5, 2016 | United States Department of the Treasury

Posted on 10/05/2016 5:07:30 AM PDT by jpl

On Monday October 3, 2016 America's national debt hit the staggering total combined amount of $19.64 trillion.

Since President Barack Hussein Obama was inaugurated into office a little less than eight years ago, the democrats, and a few spineless republican "leaders" in congress have increased the total combined national debt by more than $9 trillion:

Date                 Debt Held by the Public         Intragovernmental Holdings   Total Public Debt Outstanding

01/20/2009       6,307,310,739,681.66           4,319,566,309,231.42              10,626,877,048,913.08
10/03/2016       14,169,562,468,883.59         5,473,387,273,677.92              19,642,949,742,561.51

In this time period, the debt has increased precisely $9,016,072,693,648.43, and worst of all, almost 8 trillion dollars of this increase is debt held by the public which has been borrowed from foreign governments like the communist Chinese, and printed by the Federal Reserve Bank, significantly devaluing the precious U.S. dollar.

This is an absolutely mind-blowing increase of over $3.2 billion each and every single day. 9 trillion dollars is approximately $28,000 for every single man, woman, and child in the United States.

And given that true economic recovery appears to be nowhere in sight and the federal reserve continues to endlessly monetize the debt and pump countless billions into the markets via quantitative easing, it is pretty much a certainly that the next trillion dollars of debt will be accumulated before we know it within the next couple of years or so.

This does need to be tacked on to Hillary Clinton as it is HER party that has allowed this.

The insanity won’t stop because Congress is merely ceremonial. We’re on our own.

But hey, it’s change! Woo hoo! Going from being solvent to crushing insolvency—is change!

Wasn’t it the case that by even 2011, The One had racked up more debt than his all of his predecessors (Washington through GWB) combined?

Remember when all the media made people care about was the deficit? You could triple this number and no one cares. They are not told to care.

Yes but look how many jobs gave been created, how many roads and bridges have been fixed, how many diseases have been cured, how many poor people lifted out of poverty.... Wasn’t that extra 9 trillion worth the results?

We’re still giving away hundreds of billions in foreign aid, so everything must be ok.

The GOP shares the blame. They have yet to pass a budget. They’ve allowed Continuing resolutions for the last 7 years. They’ve given the dems a blank check the whole time.

It will only get worse. Most of the debt is driven by the entitlement programs, which are on automatic pilot. We are an aging society with 10,000 people retiring every day until 2030. Couple that with the 80 million people on Medicaid, with 11 million being due to Obamacare, and you have the recipe for disaster.

If interest rates ever return to normal rates, our debt servicing costs will balloon along with SS costs, which are tied to COLAs. Almost two thirds of the budget is spent on mandatories and debt servicing costs. The Fed is riding a tiger and doesn't know how to get off.

Part of the progressive's plan to destroy the US is to bankrupt us.

So far I must admit they have succeeded. Trillion dollar deficits every year confirm their strategy.

Giving federal government control to liberals is like handing your credit cards to a spoiled 13-year-old. Yeah, it’s fun and games for awhile—fancy trips, toys galore, treats for yourself and all your friends—but eventually your house is about to be foreclosed upon, your electricity is turned off for nonpayment, you are developing scurvy for lack of fruits, and even a moron starts to realize it’s time to give the credit cards back to the adults.

The only problem is, who are the adults these days? I don’t think they live in Washington D.C. Both parties are corrupt and the system is designed to corrupt every single politician and bureaucrat who enters the D.C. beltway. Benjamin Franklin wrote a letter to an aspiring bureaucrat from France who wanted to come to America and gain a sinecure working in the capital. He wrote back that the United States was a land of amateur politicians who practiced other professions and trades but agreed to interrupt that profession for a few years to serve in government, after which they returned to their former work. Would that this were still the case.
