A law enforcement group is charging CNN edited video of the racially charged police shooting of a Charlotte, N.C., man to make officers look bad.
Blue Lives Matter, an organization comprised of active or retired law enforcement officers, claims the cable news network edited video of the Sept. 20 fatal shooting of Keith Scott to cut out police ordering him to drop the gun, fueling claims Scott, a black man, was unarmed when he was shot by Officer Brentley Vinson. Although Vinson is black, the incident was the latest police shooting around the nation to spur violent protests and rioting.
"The editing was clearly intended to give viewers the impression that Scott wasn't armed. By intentionally excluding information to promote the false narrative that the officer-involved shooting of Keith Scott was unjustified, CNN directly contributed towards inciting violence and destruction in the Charlotte riots, Blue Lives Matter said in a statement. Innocent citizens were hurt during the Charlotte riots, but editing like this also incites violence against police officers long after the riots are over.

The Big Three aired edited tape of the Kent State shootings. Cut out the film of rioters charging the guard.
Why are we not surprised that any of the MSMLSD people do that? And they complain that they’re not trusted? Imagine that.
CNN has done it before and got caught. You’d think they would’v learned a lesson. One poll showed that MSM credibility has hit a new low.
CNN polling is just as deceptive.
Bump!
ABC did much the same with the video of George Zimmerman. More msm lies.
People are so subject to the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect.
These people are idiots
Do they really think they will be above the fry if The SHTF
Charlotte business owners whose properties were damaged should sue them.
Remember Dan Rather: “I have the original document here in my hands” a forgery. So funny, it ruined him
Criminal law is not my area, but I would seriously ask the DA/SA to bring a charge of Inciting to Riot, or whatever the similar charge is under NC law, before a Grand Jury.
It was a purposeful act, deceptive, failed to tell the whole truth and a reasonable person could infer it might cause the Great Unwashed to be more likely to riot.
As a matter of increasing the seriousness of the act, it was done for profit, to get more viewers to watch CNN.
Might not get a conviction, but, after those needless riots, I’ll bet you I could get a True Bill every time.
... and that would send shock waves through the MSM.
I agree. When any media is caught red handed altering, misrepresenting or editing for their profit or ratings there should be consequences.
In my view freedom of the press should not give them the license to misrepresent the truth.
Agree totally, especially when one can show the misrepresent ion was intentional.
If the victim is a person, it’s still very hard for them to prevail in a civil action.
However, when the victim is “The People of the State of North Carolina,”, those who were affected by the riot, as it is in this case, it becomes a criminal matter.
North Carolina General Statutes
288.2. Riot; inciting to riot; punishments.
A riot is a public disturbance involving an assemblage of three or more persons which by disorderly and violent conduct, or the imminent threat of disorderly and violent conduct, results in injury or damage to persons or property or creates a clear and present danger of injury or damage to persons or property.
Any person who willfully incites or urges another to engage in a riot, and such inciting or urging is a contributing cause of a riot in which there is property damage in excess of fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) or serious bodily injury, shall be punished as a Class F felon.

It is my understanding the a local media station WSOC, ran with the false narrative that the perp didnt have a gun and was reading a book while waiting for his kid to get of the school bus.
They ran with this before getting the police report, when that report was available to them. They chose to go with the more scintillating narrative. They chose to go with the BIG SCOOP.....
I do believe that this station is responsible for incitement of the community and stoked the riots.
This station must be held responsible for the damage and looting
They’ve released full, unedited video (with audio) from the dash cam and a body cam. Would you please post a thread about it?
Here’s a link to one article which includes both videos. I’m sure there are others. http://www.wcnc.com/mb/news/local/keith-scott-shooting/family-views-unreleased-footage-in-scott-shooting-media-release-pending/328977994
Both videos are labeled graphic, but I think only the body cam video is graphic. I had some difficulty watching it, as it brought back memories I have of myself and two other patients suffering complications from lung surgery. I had already survived what you’ll see Keith Scott going through, when I had to watch the man across from me, and then listen to the man beside me. Of the three of us, I was the only one who survived. I was spared much of the graphic details of the man dying beside me, but the man across from me died very much like this video. Every breath draws more air into the chest, which has no way of exiting. As the chest fills with air, it compresses the lung, allowing less and less air into the lung, until you stop breathing all together. And it hurts.
Tell your kids to make better choices than the Keith Scotts of the world, so they don’t end up like him. This is not a pleasant way to go.
