GOP senators: We could work with Hillary Clinton
the Hill ^ | October 03, 2016, 06:31 pm | By Jordain Carney

Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) is predicting that congressional Republicans will be more willing to work with Hillary Clinton than they have been with President Obama, should she be elected president.

"She is a known commodity, and I think there’ll be more camaraderie in terms of working together, than there might have been in the early days of Obama," Isakson told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Isakson, who is running for reelection and has endorsed GOP nominee Donald Trump, added, "I don’t think it will be like the post-Obama election at all."

Isakson's comments come as Clinton has narrowly trailed Trump in the typically red state, feeding Democrats hopes of expanding the electoral map. According a RealClearPolitics average of polls, the GOP presidential nominee is leading by less than 5 points.

The Georgia Republican isn't the only one who is open to collaborating with a hypothetical Clinton administration, even though multiple congressional committees are still probing her time atop the State Department.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Clinton would find a "willing partner" on immigration reform, bolstering the military and a Simpson-Bowles-type of initiative to improve federal spending, should she win.

"I can do two things at once. I can criticize and I can cooperate," he told The Hill last month. "I don't see that they're inconsistent."

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas)—while stressing that he doesn't believe Clinton will win in November—said Americans expect GOP senators to work with whoever is in the White House.

"We'll do our duty, you know regardless of who is president," the Senate's No. 2 Republican told The Hill last week. "The people we serve want us to to work together for their benefit so that's certainly my posture."

Cornyn declined to name specific issues that he believes he and Clinton could work well together on.

Translation: The Uniparty will work together no matter who is elected (uless, God forbid, it is Trump!). Only use the -D and -R to appeal to a generational party loyalty. Millennials are ending that tradition.

I will never donate to the Rep. again if they don’t come around and support Donald. This is just crazy what they are doing - caving again just like the spineless elitist they are.

Once again, Linda disappoints. At least she is consistent.

All this treachery and betrayal from our party our from our own “conservative” ranks,,, it’s really hard to be optimistic anymore. A win in November would be a nice consolation prize.

That’s why I think these folks and others are going to suffer at the polls.I would never vote for a Democrat ever— But I will be damned if I will ever vote for one of these capitulating mush bellies. I know that our fight with Cruz was bitter but at least he never followed these RINOs like a puppy looking for a treat. I hope every one of these sycophants is primaried hard and we can knock some out. They really aren’t worth a damn.

Question: How many Democrat Senators are saying they could work with President Trump?

yeah, that’s what I thought.

The GOPe are unprincipled, traitorous scum in it only for themselves; in it only so they can be re-elected over and over again to keep all the free goodies flowing their way.

Yep, Mr. Cornyn, we elected you so you would go to DC and cooperate with the party we didn’t elect. Did you say that when you were asking for Texans’ votes?

Trump could be my last Republican vote. After voting ONLY Republican for every election since 1984, I’ll be out if Trump is out. I mean, the establishment has been accessory to flooding my country with 3rd-world peasants and women in hijabs while telling me I’m a bad person for wanting to preserve my country and its Christian culture. With Republicans like Ryan, McConnell, Graham, McCain, Sasse, Flake, et.al, why would I support the mainstream GOP?? Given the choice of prolonged death with a thousand cuts as I’m strapped to a gurney or a quick, albeit brutal, knife attack, I think I’d choose the latter. And with an all-bets-are-off knife attack, who knows how it’ll go down or end up.

Beautifully said, Hostage. When they showed their ruthlessness shoving Billy Dale into a van the Congress was put on notice. And we watched one by one over the ensuing years how people's lives were destroyed or how Obamacare was stamped a tax. Gary Aldrich's book and then BKO provided some clarifying details. Those two are long gone, others have taken their place and the Clintons are more powerful than ever. Fortunately for us, each of them is in preparation to cast off this mortal coil, or so pictures of them seem to say.
