This has got to be one of the most disgusting pieces of journalism from the 2016 campaign. The Washington Post spent several months following a seriously mentally ill woman around Pennsylvania to wrote a magazine-length October hit piece to smear Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his supporters as bat-bleep-crazy.
snip
1. Sorry to keep ranting, but this piece by Washington post is just so offensive in so many ways. Awful journalism
2. Intentional 1 dimensional marginalized figure dealing with mental health served to upper middle class readers to self-affirm views
And only will further isolate the already marginalized; turning her into a political pinball.
3. The article says more about the ethics of the publication (and some readers) than it does about the instability of the subject.
4. When a publication puts pageviews over the health of a subject. to give its readers a moral salve, what is it saying about its ethics?
The Post posted it would not allow comments on the article by readers, piously claiming:
Comments are now closed. We turn off the comments on stories dealing with personal loss, tragedies or other sensitive topics. For more details, please see our our discussion guidelines

She wins awards.
The Post sent its national enterprise reporter Stephanie McCrummen, 2015 winner of the Erikson Prize for Excellence in Mental Coverage by the Media, into a living room in western Pennsylvania to watch the Republican National Convention with the woman and her boyfriend, presumably with the couples consent.
Wow, what a job! Stephanie McCrummen wins awards and gets paid for exploiting the mentally ill for political purposes. I sense she has a shot at a cabinet position in Hillary's USSA.

So is Donald Trump going to respond to this, or is he going to join Mitt Romney on the “high road” ?

How did the Post reporter gain access to the woman’s house?
To: combat_boots
I posted an article about this earlier. The most upsetting thing to me, after reading the original Post article, is this woman may be a conspiracy theorist, and she posted a few things on the internet but nothing that hadn’t already been posted or blogged, yet the state police arrested her and forced injections to calm her down.

We all need to realize and remember that the reason the media support who they support has little to do with ideology, and everything to do with their own personal stature. Everything. They don’t want to be just ‘writers’, or ‘reporters’. They want to be ‘great’ and ‘important’ and alter the course of history. It’s about them, just the same way it is for Hillary.
Trump represents a diminution of their stature, because he represents the diminution of the entire academic, political, celebrity culture coalition. To do this required a person with a profoundly developed ego, because that’s what it takes to take down a oligarchy of elitists. A true ‘journalist’ would be a truth seeker who would never let a personal agenda drive them. Most of us would be hard pressed to name one.

So she thinks The Mooch looks like a guy and because Obama dresses in muslim garb, said he would side with them against all others, told Stephanopolis that he WAS a muslim, it’s insane to think he might actually be a muzzie? As to the fag stuff, well we’ve all seen how he throws a baseball...
