NEW YORK (AP) More sophisticated cameras. Security robots. Customers feeling shaken by recent attacks at U.S. malls may not notice huge changes but mall operators are testing and putting in place new technologies and other measures to offer people more protection without intruding too much on their shopping time.
Mall executives say shoppers have been adamantly opposed to airport security tactics like metal detectors. So they're trying other things, and increasingly using mass notifications that let them send text and email alerts to tenants within seconds in case of a crisis.

I feel much safer already. I say they wall paper the entire mall with these wonderful new Kevlar gun-free flyers. They’re amazing! They should pass a regulation making it a requirement for all malls to be wall papered in Kevlar flyers. /s
"...The convenience and greater variety of goods offered online offer the consumer the ability to shop without the hassle of traffic, parking and teenage gangs all from the comfort of their own home..."
How about doing something proactive like letting citizens protect themselves. A visible sidearm probably is very effective in telling a bad guy to go mess with someone else.
Like it or not, we are in the midst of an aggressive resumption of the jihad that spawned the Crusades. And am I alone in my perception that more of US out here in Flyover country have a deeper understanding of the nature of the problem than do our so-called “leaders”, many of whom appear ready and willing to exploit the situation to enhance their wealth and power?
That is probably because most of them live in gated and guarded properties and WORK in places defended by others with weapons while the rest of us are out here dealing with the growing problem by arming ourselves with the weapons many of these “leaders” seek to deny us, leaving us to rely on police forces that arrive on the scene just in time to draw a chalk outline of our bodies on the pavement and snap some photos!
The muzzie nut jobs are now frequently violating the “Plan” to stealthily subvert the Constitution here and the freedoms in other non-muslim nations of the West by coming against the US and the West with violence and murder.
As sad as are the deaths of increasing numbers of more citizens, which deaths COULD and SHOULD have been prevented if those alleged leaders pulled their heads out of their err, the SAND, if those deaths serve to awaken the distressing number of PC/tolerance/diversity afflicted folk among us still slumbering in the face of a clear existential threat, they will not have died in vain!
Dr. Bill Warner’s 5 minute video tells the story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwXtTwNvWXc
I never go shopping without my legally concealed gun.
“Milwaukeestan” ... I see what you did there.
Good one Diana
I live near The People’s Republic of Madistan. And prior to your post, we always referred to your location as Milwaukeezoo”
“Yes. The days of the shopping mall are clearly numbered. The convenience and greater variety of goods offered online offer the consumer the ability to shop without the hassle of traffic, parking and teenage gangs all from the comfort of their own home. Within 10 years malls will be obsolete. Can you tell I hate the mall?”
We have several malls close to us. I have not been in any one of them for probably 15 years. By their very nature, they are expensive places to shop, and you have to mingle with “Utes” who use them as their “playground.”
I grew up in Milwaukeestan. We left in 1970 when my Dad was finished with all of his apprenticeships and he moved on up to The Big Time. When we moved to The ‘Burbs, Sis and I pestered him relentlessly - we had a whole 1/4 acre of land...WHY couldn’t we get a horse? City Kids. *SMIRK*
I, too, used to live south of The People’s Republik of Madistan and worked in Madistan proper for decades. With a few exceptions, what a bunch of nuts!
I’ve recently moved west to a bigger farm; 160 acres of GORGEOUS in the Driftless Area of our beautiful state.
Happy, Happy! :)
Allow citizens to carry.
Next problem to solve.
Shopping malls are kill boxes. Enter at your own risk.
Take away public transit stops from malls. Move’them farther away.
Not the first time either. They help create and encourage the problem to implement the “solution” they always wanted to implement in the first place, the real agenda they wanted to do all along.
boston store there had youths raid them and steal a bunch of stuff. the theaters there have had problems. blm protestors recently stillwere able to get inside and conduct protests. it is only a matter of time before another incident goes down,’because the real reasons for the problems are not addressed.
the people causing the problems have no connection to wauwatosa.
in our case, the bus lines need to be removed, and the attached/newer theater needs to go away. these are the two things that would improve the mall greatly. both things would hinder the groups causing problems at mayfair.
I can live with that; just don’t let them touch The Cheesecake Factory! :)
We’re there morning to mid-day while the feral yutes are still asleep. I’d never go to any Mall at night.
Ditto
Still more liberal silliness.
When trouble occurs and seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
YOU are responsible for the defense of yourself and your family/loved ones.
Metal detectors and TSA. That’ll make ‘em secure.
