Joint Chiefs Chairman Rejects Obama Plan to Share Syria Intel with Russia
AIM ^ | September 28, 2016 | Lt. Colonel James G. Zumwalt, USMC (Ret.)

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford has just gone where no JCS chairman has ever gone before! Unsurprisingly, it took a Marine general to stand up to President Barack Obama in the wake of yet another of his dubious national security decisions.

The same mindless Obama/Kerry negotiating team that brought us an Iran deal undermining our national security, recently sought to bring us a similarly questionable deal with Russia. This one mandated the Pentagon’s participation in an intelligence-sharing agreement with the Russian Central Command in Syria-built upon a ceasefire paving the way for peace negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland.

But, unlike the Iran nuclear deal where the JCS Chairman did nothing, our current Chairman, General Dunford, publicly voiced his objection.

Testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee on September 22, Dunford made clear the military would refuse to execute what was the central element of Obama’s new Syria policy, i.e., intelligence-sharing with Russia-despite the president’s order it be done.

"Obama has created a vortex in Washington spinning in a direction contrary to U.S. national security interests. That vortex has proven capable of sucking into it those in government responsible for ensuring a president’s questionable national security actions do not go unchallenged."

a very tactful way of saying that the IslamoNazi enemy camel has infiltrated and got his nose... and entire ass... in our tent (White House) where it does NOT belong!

So now we know why we haven’t heard from Assange lately. Maybe Russia did give Julian the emails?

Outstanding that Gen. Dunford has the fortitude to stand up for our country as the JCS Chairman against the traitorous president.

I commend Gen. Dunford for wanting what is best for America and putting his job on the line for us all.

The damned coward. He said trannys and women make fine USMC infantry. And of course he cannot share intel with the Russians in Syria.
Forget ISIS and everything else. Our only goal is to remove Assad and install a Sunni state like Saudi Arabia, or the gulf States.

Russia is defending Assad.

You are right. What the hell is going on here? We absolutely SHOULD be sharing intel with Russia. We are supposed to have a common enemy in the Islamofacists. It is painfully obvious that the entire US military establishment cares more about removing Assad than defeating these animals.

I was not aware the military has a check and balance role over the White House. Those cheering this Dunford turd would do well to remember three things.

This is the military and intel community signaling that they can veto a President. Just after Christmas that matters a lot when we have president Trump. They are telling us they intend to ignore him.

The “brave’ Dunford didn’t stand up and refuse the order when told to put women and trannys in the grunts.

Last time the joint chiefs decided they were the final say on national security decisions, JFK got murdered.

Gen. Dunford is a protege of Gen James “Mad Dog” Mattis and this is a perfect way to show the Imperial Anus that he is persona non grata and an enemy of the state. Semper Fi Fighting Joe!!

This is very short-sighted thinking in my opinion. Obama is a giant turd of a President, but we have a Constitutional order that must be respected at all times. What if tomorrow President Trump (wisely in my opinion) wants to work with the Russians (or anyone else) and the joint chiefs say "NO"?

Commander-in-chief means just that. Period.

When the military refuses a presidential order, it means that the next step is a coup d'état.

Domestic enemy of the republic and traitor changes that. To bring Obama down is the Constitutional thing to do when a duplicitous Congress does not do their job. No one in this society is above the law. Period!!

You people defaming the Honorable General Dunsford have no unferstanding of what he has done and what he stands for. You should be ashamed.

“Obama is a giant turd of a President, but we have a Constitutional order that must be respected at all times.”

Horse hockey. When the president is engaged in treason against the United States and its people, the military is sworn to protect the republic against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Blindly obeying orders falls in the realm of Hitler’s Germany.

I agree. So long as the order is lawful, the military doesn't get to ignore it. If this general thinks it's bad policy then he should either resign in protest or resign to run for President himself. Otherwise it's just insubordination. If he goes through with it, he should be removed. I can't stand Obama but the precedent is bad.

That said I don't trust reporters a little bit so I will not be surprised if I see that he never really said he wouldn't follow a lawful order.

I agree with you that in general, the President is a traitorous bastard. However in this case, it would seem that Obama is pushing to do something that would be good for everyone: cooperate with the Russians in ending ISIS. Why resist here? Why now? Something stinks, and to me it sounds like outdated cold warriors beating war drums where no one needs them.
