The former Miss Universe at the center of a bitter exchange in Monday's presidential debate was accused of aiding a would-be murderer and threatening to kill a judge, it has emerged.
Alicia Machado was named by Hillary Clinton as having been shamed for her weight in 1996 by Donald Trump, when she was Miss Universe and he bought the beauty contest, by being called 'Miss Piggy' when she gained weight.
The then Miss Venezuela was photographed with Trump at a gym as he spoke about how she 'loves to eat', and she also claimed he mocked her Latino accent, calling her 'Miss Housekeeping'.
On Tuesday Machado launched her own attack on the Republican candidate, accusing him of abuse and 'stupid things'.
But now two Associated Press reports from 1998 have revealed the Machado was accused of aiding attempted murder and threats to kill in Venezuela.

In 2005, Machado was engaged to baseball star Bobby Abreu. During their engagement she was on the Spanish reality show La Granja, where she was filmed on camera during the show having sex with another member of the show, Spanish driver Fernando Acaso. She was expelled from the show and shortly after the video surfaced Abreu ended their engagement.
On June 25, 2008, Machado gave birth to her daughter, Dinorah Valentina. She issued a statement that the father of Dinorah was her best friend Mexican businessman Rafael Hernandez Linares. Mexican news sources, quoting the Attorney General of Mexico, reported that the real father of her child was Gerardo Alvarez-Vazquez, the Mexican drug lord, of the paramilitary drug-cartel Los Negros. The christening of her child was subsequently attended by the chief members of the Beltran drug cartel (the Beltrán-Leyva Cartel), including the cartel's “boss of bosses” Arturo Beltrán Leyva, his brother Héctor Beltrán Leyva and the drug-lord Edgar Valdez Villarreal, “La Barbie”.
On November 24, 2010, BBC Mundo confirmed that Machado had to close her Twitter account after writing a tweet that called for "peace between the Chinas", referring to North & South Korea. Her gaffe unleashed a rush of insulting posts, prompting her to go offline. "I now have a lot of psychopaths on the account and it's best I start another one, kisses," she signed off, according to Venezuelan media.
In 2016, she has been a strong supporter of the Hillary Presidential Campaign.
In May 2016, Machado became a U.S. citizen. She has spoken out many times against Donald Trump, who, during her year as Miss Universe, she claims called her "Mrs. Piggy" because she gained weight and "Mrs. Housekeeping" because of her Hispanic background (according to the Clinton campaign). Trump said: "She was impossible" and that "[s]he was the winner and you know, she gained a massive amount of weight and it was a real problem. We had a real problem. Not only that, her attitude, and we had a real problem with her.
Machado was mentioned by Hillary Clinton during the first 2016 presidential debate on September 26th and has taken part in advertisements for the Clinton campaign.
on a morning broadcast a Trump surrogate put forth that Miss U actually asked Trump for help with her weight because the Miss U pageant was going to pull her crown over the weight gain and failure to make appearances. In the tape of the work-out session, Trump said that she liked to eat like he did and all of us did but she believed in being fit. In context it was hardly an insult but a way of explaining the presser, that she was trying to keep her crown.

She appeared on Megyn Kelly and said Trump caused her to become bulimic and anorexic after she won the Miss Universe title. Kelly produced an interview from BEFORE she won where she said she had been bulimic and anorexic for a year and just overcome it. She said it had to be some kind of conspiracy from the pageant organizers.
