ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIRST DEBATE BETWEEN
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
Donald John Trump
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY, HEMPSTEAD, NY
9 PM MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2016
The 90 minute debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
lol I get so excited too. I love it though. It’s like the Superbowl to me.
I think a lot of people were expecting a total POLITICIAN vs Politician take down by Trump. Or maybe they were thinking that he has been winning so much with such huge rallies that he’d beat her like a rented jackass.
1. He isn’t a politician. He won’t debate like one.
2. Newt Gingrich was very forceful in saying, “Let Trump be Trump”. And Gingrich has a strong point. Trump has gotten where he is by being himself.
3. He came off as the non-politician in a year where this is precisely what the public seems to want. While Clinton came off as the same old same old political wonk.
The best line of the night was his You had thirty years........... that line will resonate from this debate and will be what is remembered.
I have to agree - he was too long on some answers and sometimes took the bait that Holt threw at him. He also could have hit Hillary harder on the Clinton Foundation, Benghazi, her lies to Congress, etc. But overall he committed no serious errors that will hurt him. And my agreeing he wasn't always on target shouldn't get me called a troll, especially as I have put some of my retirement money out there for his campaign.
I think it’s important to remember that 2/3 of the people mistrust the media. So, when the media tries to help Hillary...
That one caused me chest pains, too....
Maybe ... but Trump will come better armed.
Trust me.
LOL
I was originally upset and disappointed, but now have cooled down and will give my assessment.
The reason I was upset was that Donald was put on the defensive by aa smug and unlikable Clinton and obviously biased moderator. AS a political junkie, I was thinking of all the things I WANTED Trump to say. However, if I felt this, the public is probably feeling that Trump was being treated unfairly and just defending himself. People have a strong dislike of injustice and love an underdog, so I feel this will actually HELP Trump (or at least not hurt him). Again, it comes down to how they looked overall and were perceived by the public
Clinton- polished, too rehearsed and smug, knew moderator was on her side, took cheap shots that people don’t care about
Trump- less polished and rehearsed, underdog, just a regular American who wants to make the country better put on the spot unfairly by a politician and biased media.
That is my take.
I hope that she hits them between the running lights with the sharp end. Before I would guard the bitch, I would get a wooden pecker and peck shit with the chickens.
From your keyboard to God’s ear, FRiend!
RitaOK he has the people behind him NOTHING is going to change that it is to late for her!!!! The ENTHUSIASIM is with Trump NOT going to change!!!!! This debate or future debates are NOT going to make a DAMNED bit of difference the PEOPLE LOVE Trump!!
Wouldn’t that have been her microphone?
Good for Trump!
The Hillary team told the world what she was going to do and she it it. Trump didn't worry about it and he should have! Hillary playing BLOODY KELLY? That was awful and he didn't refute it!
My God, did you just “I know you are, but what am I,” me?
Show some dignity.
