Hillary Clinton is taking a break from debate prep to visit the site of a fatal police shooting.
Clinton on Sunday will visit Charlotte, N.C., where police killed a black man earlier this week, NBC News reported.
Protests erupted on the streets of the city in the wake of his death.
The trip is Clinton's only scheduled campaign travel before the first 2016 presidential debate Monday night at Hofstra University in New York.
On Tuesday, officer Brentley Vinson fatally shot Keith Lamont Scott, 43, during a confrontation at an apartment complex as the police were searching for another man.
Cellphone video taken by Scott’s wife emerged earlier Friday, showing police shouting at Scott to drop a weapon as the woman pleads with them not to shoot and saying that he is unarmed and has a traumatic brain injury.
Clinton earlier Friday called for police video of Scott’s death to be made public.
Charlotte’s police chief said Thursday his department would not publicly release the video.
“We release it when we believe it’s a compelling reason, but I’m not going to jeopardize the investigation,” Kerr Putney said in a news conference.
Multiple incidents like Scott’s shooting this year have stirred national debate over the relationship between law enforcement and minority communities.

Donald Trump is a godsend. If Bush or anyone else would have been the GOP nominee, Clinton and the media would have railed against him for not going to Charlotte as well. Then they would have went and gotten drowned out by the rioters, and then the media would have played clips of the heckling, as well as "analysis" from the liberal elites saying Bush didn't go far enough or something.
Trump is clearly on the side of law enforcement and the rule of law. Hillary is on the side of anarchy, destruction, and the failed status-quo.
Future Republican candidates will look back on 2016 and learn from Trump's campaign.
More likely she is asking herself, "What would Saul Alinsky do?"
I bet the folks living in that apartment complex are gonna show her a reeeeal gooood time.. maybe even burn the place down to impress her. or both. hope she brings her respirator mask.

Would she be there if this happened in Idaho, instead of the battleground state of North Carolina???

She’s doing this so that Monday night she can say “yesterday, I visited Charlotte, NC where an unarmed black man blah blah blah”.

Her internal polls must be atrocious. All her campaigning lately has ONLY been to pander to her base. Fundraisers at Hollyweird. At Temple Univ to try to win back Millenials. Screaming at labor leaders because she isn’t beating Trump by 50pts. At Orlando trying to rally Hispanics. 0zer0 and Moochel trying to rally black votes, and now Hitlery herself trying to rally the black vote. These actions do not show her base is secure, let alone show her trying to expand her base. She is in deep trouble.

She wants to make up for not having gone to Louisiana and Mexico. This visit, she hopes, will make her look presidential.
Big deal. She can study the debate questions and staff prepared answers on the plane and only has to take 10 minutes off to get out and have her picture taken with a bunch of local BLM employees, then back to the plane and her "debate prep".
