A cellphone camera video made by the wife of Keith L. Scott before he was fatally shot by police here shows the moments before and after the incident, including the wifes pleas to her husband to get out of his truck, and her pleas to the police not to shoot him.
But the video, which was given to the Times by attorneys for the family Friday, does not include a view of the shooting itself. Nor does it answer the crucial question of whether Mr. Scott had a gun, as the police have maintained.

There is a gun on the asphalt. Most likely it was in his possession while he was among the living.
True.
She say “He don’t have no gun!”
“by attorneys for the family Friday”

The lawyers said the cellphone video was shot by Rakeyia Scott, Mr. Scotts wife on Tuesday afternoon.

His Wednesday wife was not available for comment.
MSNBC is bullshit.
Notice the cops asking each other “are you good” after...Keith took a shot at them...that gun of his, that he didn’t have, was fired.
This MSNBC crap is trying to make a case for Hillary, nothing else. It’s a garbage network.
Until my son in law became a State Police Officer I had a pretty skewed view of the police. Since seeing first hand how they are trained, and how they make every effort to protect everyone in these situations, I tend to come down on the side of the Police.
Unless you are a bumpkin, the training you get is so focused on de-escalation that it is truly a last resort to shoot someone.
These perps would obviously be better off doing what they are told.
I guess they do not realize that simply running away isn’t going to get you into MORE trouble than resistance or failure to follow directions. I learned that the cops are not generally going to shoot you in the back. And if you can outrun them, they won’t chase too far—knowing they can get you elsewhere.
I am not advocating resistance. I am simply saying that for an outstanding warrant or traffic stop, you are not going to jail for hoofing it. And that is better than getting shot.
And you cannot Trust Monday, Monday. You just cant trust that day.
This is heart breaking to watch, but if he did have a gun, the police will be vindicated by this video. His wife says he has a ‘TBI - tramatic brain injury’ - clearly not someone who was able to make rational decisions.
The wife’s behavior is very odd if you ask me. Like ordering the police to not shoot her husband, then afterwards saying he better live. and why is she out of the car?
Heard it on the Jeffrey T. Kuhner Show and I am surprised that He even played it, though he is done playing it because now that the kids are getting out of school. I am surprised the wife did this.
He didn’t mind the cops or his wife.
I read here the other day that DNA analysis is now so sophisticated that scientists can test the gun to see if it matches police hand DNA (just as they linked it to Scott) pocket lint, etc.
So far all the forensic evidence (I’ve read about here) shows it’s Keith Scott. Period.
As with the OJ travesty, where it was patently clear that `OJ’ made a Pez dispenser of his ex-wife, Carlos Slim’s Slimes and other race-baiters really, really want to believe that real life is the movie `Internal Affairs’ where officer Peck (Richard Gere) carries around a handgun in an ankle holster to plant when he murders someone.
“Kill anyone today, Peck?”
“No. But the day ain’t over yet.”
“If we wish hard enough, maybe Tinkerbell doesn’t have to die!” (60 watt bulb, NYT cranks rheostat clockwise)
A TV analogy: because others, also with money and an agenda, are bussing in unemployed deadheads to Charlotte to “protest” (yet another bonehead pointing a gun at cops), we won’t have to worry about increased lawlessness in the next couple days.
They’re like the old broad on the TV series Downton Abbey: “`Weekend’? What’s that?”
There should be a comma after wife.
I have seen too many videos of cops shouting “stop resisting” at someone who clearly is not resisting to assume “drop the gun” means he had a gun. I would not read that as proof he did. I think shouting this stuff is part of the training.

And there’s this comment which I’m sure the FReeper Forensic Team will analyze!
>>>As late as 1:54 there is no gun next to body. Somewhere between 2:03 and 2:09 the gun magically appears but the only officer down on the body (to the left) makes no move that would account for the gun being where it ends up at 2:09. I suspect the black cop standing over the body dropped the gun somewhere in that six second window.<<<
She said he had a “TBI” (traumatic brain injury?) and that he didn’t have a gun.
Her video cuts away at the critical moment that the gun appears in the video so now the dash cam and body cam are important to establish where the gun came from because right now that’s not clear in the video.
“I think she was yelling for keith not to shoot.”
She could have been yelling for the police officer not to shoot.
Are we seeing all of the video or is there more to it.
