Mayor Kenney on Wednesday lashed out at a law making its way through the state legislature that targets the city's policy of giving sanctuary to undocumented immigrants, calling it "incredibly dangerous."
The legislation from Northeast Philadelphia Republican Rep. Martina White would essentially make the city's policy, which bars nearly all communication between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, illegal.
--SNIP-- The bill also would hold a municipality financially responsible for any damages, to a person or property, resulting from criminal activity by illegal immigrants, who in the legislation are called "unauthorized aliens."

Sounds like some politicians are fighting back.
Dangerous for who? Politicins who support illegal immigration?
Why wouldn’t the “sanctuary city” politicians be guilty of obstruction of justice?
He needs to be jailed. He has systemically violated law he swore to uphold.
We live in a strange world where it is “dangerous” to force cities to comply with the law.
This is happening all over the country. Time for some action from our Congress. This is treasonous.
He sure is. What a hack.
Well, if it’s “dangerous”, this article doesn’t explain why that would be true.
Has anybody anywhere spelled out the details of what is going on, or what it would mean.
As best I read the accounts and the debates going on about it, there is no actual current Federal law binding on these “sanctuaries” — only a moral obligation. The 10th Amendment is to thank for this. It probably was never constitutionally envisioned that state and city localities would ever WANT to be invaded — that they would fail to do what is right out of their own self interest. The welfare explosion has made what would have otherwise been unthinkable, lucrative.
Tying Federal welfare participation to a good faith effort to weed out the “undocumenteds” would only be sensible. You want to be don’t ask don’t tell — fine, but you will be don’t receive as well.

Try out a sanctuary street first. The good mayors street. All of illegals can enjoy the mayors neighborhood.
I could have sworn the Democrats said no such cities even exist.
Dangerous for who? Politicians who support the free flow of illegal drugs by illegal immigrant drug traffickers and the associated payoffs from the drug king-pins to line their pockets?
I foresee a problem Does a state have the right to order its agencies to enforce federal law? And a state under the separation of powers does not have the right to its own immigration statutes and policies. At best the state could deny funds to any entity that violates state law. Beyond that I do not see much power to compel a city to comply with federal law.
