Before their recent meeting and I suspect a few times after Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto compared Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler. He wasnt the first to do so, even in his own country. Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico, has also compared Trump to Hitler. Cher has compared Trump to Hitler. Abraham Foxman, former national director of the Anti-Defamation League, has compared Trump to Hitler (although in fairness, thats kind of his whole brand). Even Glenn Beck compared Trump to Hitler. Well no doubt hear it again many times before this election is over, and, to be honest, its a comparison that bothers me for two reasons.
I am a Jew a New York Writer Liberal Jew, the scariest Jew of all and from a very young age, I was taught about an unimaginable horror called the Holocaust and about an evil man named Adolf Hitler. The elderly man who sat beside me every Saturday morning in synagogue was a Holocaust survivor, and his elderly wife was a Holocaust survivor, as well. And so the first reason the comparison of Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler bothers me is not because it belittles the deaths of millions of innocents, but because, frankly, it belittles Adolf Hitler.
Hitler believed Jews were the cause of every problem. He believed extermination was the solution. He believed that the Spear of Destiny, the spear the Romans used to poke Jesus on the cross, would give him magical powers. He had an elaborately developed, hideous, deplorable theory of how things worked, and he believed in it deeply.
Trump doesnt.
Hitler was a psychopath. Trump is just a con man.

He is not saying Trump is worse than Hitler. He is saying that comparing people to Hitler makes light of what Hitler did. But the title is salacious and misleading. Probably the editor’s idea.
National Socialist German Workers Party 1929 aka NAZI Party Platform.
Unity of party and state.
Children belonged to the state.
Strong federal central government.
State controlled press and media.
Strict state intervention into the economy.
Gun controls.
Slow erasing of Christianity .
“Trump is Hitler” has now morphed into “Trump is worse than Hitler”. The left’s desperation is so obvious.
Is that Shalom on the left? And is that a made-up name?
What he is saying is that Hitler was a demagogue who rose to power playing on the worst elements of his society, but did so because he believed in something. Trump is pursuing power, exploiting the worst elements in his society, but for no reason at all other than self aggrandizement.
Or more directly, Trump is asking the irredeemable and deplorable to support his candidacy to help him sell books, to start a cable news network, and to steal money from his campaign by overcharging for hotel rooms his staffers use.
This is what the author says, not my opinion at all. I grow very tired of armchair psychology very quickly. Nobody really knows what drives or motivates other people’s decisions. We only have their actions to judge them by.
-
Beck started this - and he’s said he’s proud to be the father of it on the radio numerous times.
Beck, with the crazy mystery Brain illness, that HE said made him look crazy.
My contemporaries supporting Hillary lived for their Hate for Richard Nixon - and how that identified them.
Now, they embrace crooked Hillary, who is dirty as any President of the last 100 years.
How the self righteous have fallen.
.
How old was Hitler when he started his political career? About thirty. He was born in 1889, and died in 1945 - age 56.How old was Trump when he threw his hat into the ring for the first time? About 69. If Trump was determined to abuse power, he sure took his time trying to obtain it.
Hillary doesnt compare well on that count, for sure. Checks and balances? The biggest check any politician faces is universally hostile press coverage. Im not worried about tyranny coming from Trump.
He would vote for Hitler if he had a (d) next to his name.
Shalom Auslander? ROTFL. This has got to be satire.
Auslander is a self-hating Jew who is mad at HaShem because He won’t let him go. He, like thousands before him, refuses to be told what to do. He hates the demands of the Covenant, and, having betrayed his God and his people, he surrounds himself with the sloppy props of the effete Liberal elite who delight in desecrating the God of the Bible.
Then when terrible misfortunes happen, they blame God. What a bunch of dummies.
I loved the article. When they trot out Hitler, they know that they are losing.
People need Concealed Carry AND a couple of weapons yesterday. These people WILL become violent.
When all else fails - drag out the “You’re A Nazi” card.
This is the best she can do? Name-calling?
Hillary is done.
They sure think people are dumb enough to believe them.
The author needs to look at this as an eight year marathon, not a two month sprint.
He’s using everything up at once.
“Nobody really knows what drives or motivates other peoples decisions. We only have their actions to judge them by.”
True. Which begs the question: why the sensational headline?
People tend to accuse others of things they do or would do themselves if given the opportunity.
