A lot of his “economic conservative” credentials date back to his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives during the Gingrich era. I’m not sure how closely he’s followed those principles as a governor (Ohio Freepers could give us a better idea of this).
Yes that is true, and that would have been when I had a greater familiarity with him as a politician. From some of the things I have heard about him it appears he is not all that as governor. Ohio is a pretty liberal state, all things considered, and he is in his 2nd term in that capacity. He won reelection easily so it sounds like he gets good support from Democrats, as well as, Republicans, if that provides any clues.
