"An Uber driver ferrying a woman and two little girls was caught in Saturday night’s bomb blast — and by Sunday afternoon, the FBI was dismantling his car.
The driver said he’d picked up a woman and two girls and they were driving along W. 23rd St. in Chelsea around 8:30 p.m. — unaware that in seconds his car was going to be caught in a storm of shrapnel." “I just picked them up over there on 23rd St. and Seventh and then boom there was an explosion,” driver Md. Alam told the Daily News."
"Alam watched from the sidewalk as agents pulled out five shopping bags that had belonged to his passenger.
Two were from Macy’s, one from shoe store Aldo and two from the Garden of Eden food market."

If there was actual merchandise, bought and paid for, than it was probably just left behind in a panic and the owners didn’t know how to go about getting it back.
It’s not much of a stretch to think that the FBI told them to just leave everything right where it was.
I’d think that shrapnel the car and contents absorbed could be useful evidence.
Everyone was OK. Passengers went on to their destination in a different vehicle (obviously).
But why was the driver allowed to take them to their destination with the car? 40th St. and Madison? The driver said the passengers had to get to their destination. Was the FBI on scene immediately? Look at the locations of the stores where the bags are from - 34th Street, Gramercy Park - as I said, I may be looking into it too much but it seems, off.
I hope they didn’t have to pull shrapnel out of the driver and his passengers.

No, it doesn’t sound like it was a different vehicle - driver said he took them to their destination - THEN left the car.

I have a friend who refuses to use Uber. He does take a lot of cabs and says most cab drivers are Md named and all are openly hostile. It is his theory that all the Md cab drivers will coordinate terror attacks on us soon.
I have a theory that all those loud girls fronting in Chinese restaurants have SKSs loaded and ready at home in a closet.

There was a NYC Uber driver by the name of Mohammed Alam who got $5,000 for driving a couple of guys to the LA, CA in 2011.
