Just in: Donald J Trump: "President Donald J Trump was born in the United States. Period."
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
I doubt if Trump would pursue it. Why would he?
You're not going to automatically overturn anything he did, even if you prove he wasn't eligible. Congress seated him. And Congress gave their consent for the Supreme Court Justices. And Hawaii is on record saying he was born there, even if they can't prove it.
Reasons to pursue it are:
Reasons not to pursue it are:
LOL!!! Talk about a Freudian slip. Priceless! :)
I’ve been referring to him as “president” for months now.
Glad to see ABC is catching on!
To borrow another Freepers license plate TRUMP45! But we really shouldn’t count our chickens just yet. 53 days to go.
“You would stir up racial tensions, especially among the 13% black.
You would anger all remaining Obama supporters.
It would be hard to prosecute those that aided and abedded.
It would be a major distraction to Trump’s agenda.
It would be hard to prosecute Obama. All he has to do is say, I thought I was born in Hawaii.

As much as I would love to see Obama held to account, I agree with you. Especially because it would further inflame the racial tension in the U.S. (which Obama has encouraged, IMO).
Nothing good can come of that.
However, perhaps some legislation to ensure that a presidential candidate is a natural born citizen would be a good idea.
I don’t know if that has to be a Constitutional amendment, however.
“On the other hand, that vile woman was born in Illinois. “

Yes, and she grew up not far from where I did. :(
If the evidence is damning. Nothing better than the truth.
Doubtful he could get away with it with that fake Hawaiin barf certificate he touted.
President Trump!
We found out that there is no federal agency that takes responsibility for verifying candidates. And that states don't do it either.
We need legislation creating candidate verification processes at both federal and state levels. As President, Trump could probably order a Federal process put in place. And then he could submit regulation changes to congress that could institutionalize the process for all time.
For that matter, he could probably require that the states do the same for federal elections, which would server as a double check.
Doesn’t matter where he was born. Obama is disqualified from holding the Presidency because he lacks the parentage required. Obama has committed fraud on the US and should be sued for his pension, SS protection, and all other benefits accruing to former Presidents.
No more Kobe Beef or lobster.....let them eat cake!
I know. Yep, and Congress could strip him of all presidential perks. I could see Trump signing into law since Obama has committed fraud.
The fake certificate wasn’t used to get him elected. It came after.
Sherrif Arpaio has already shown it’s false and there was no interest to prosecute Obama. You need more than that.
IT’S GOING TO BE SO GREAT ON THE EIGHTH.
Trump usually don’t play by conventional rules. I would not say never. Obama is not all that popular as skewed polls have suggested. After a year or so, and Trump has this economy humming along, the political landscape won’t be able to support Obama or his allies. If Obama is found to be a criminal it won’t matter what the press thinks then. It doesn’t seem to matter much what press thinks now trying to prevent Trump from the White House.
“As President, Trump could probably order a Federal process put in place. And then he could submit regulation changes to congress that could institutionalize the process for all time.”

Thanks for the info; that is good to know.
And hey, as we all know, there is much, much precedent for Executive Orders on any manner of things, thanks to the current resident of the White House.
Exactly, and I don’t think anyone could say an Executive Order insuring that the Constitution is adhered to is an unconstitutional executive order.
Better to institutionalize it in law.
