You wouldn't need a constitutional amendment, because the requirements are already in the constitution. What you need is a verification process.

We found out that there is no federal agency that takes responsibility for verifying candidates. And that states don't do it either.

We need legislation creating candidate verification processes at both federal and state levels. As President, Trump could probably order a Federal process put in place. And then he could submit regulation changes to congress that could institutionalize the process for all time.

For that matter, he could probably require that the states do the same for federal elections, which would server as a double check.

Thanks for the info; that is good to know.

And hey, as we all know, there is much, much precedent for Executive Orders on any manner of things, thanks to the current resident of the White House.
