I doubt if Trump would pursue it. Why would he?

You're not going to automatically overturn anything he did, even if you prove he wasn't eligible. Congress seated him. And Congress gave their consent for the Supreme Court Justices. And Hawaii is on record saying he was born there, even if they can't prove it.

Reasons to pursue it are:

• To build the case to improve the process to prevent it ever happening again.
• To prosecute Obama.
• To identify and prosecute anyone who aided and abedded the effort to place a non-qualified candidate in the office.
• To bring extra scrutiny to any actions that benefited any of those involved.

Reasons not to pursue it are:

• You would stir up racial tensions, especially among the 13% black.
• You would anger all remaining Obama supporters.
• It would be hard to prosecute those that aided and abedded.
• It would be a major distraction to Trump's agenda.
• It would be hard to prosecute Obama. All he has to do is say, I thought I was born in Hawaii.
• It may be easier to improve the process if you use examples such as greencard holder Roger Calero who got on the ballot in 2004 in some states depriving all who voted for him from a legitimate vote.

As much as I would love to see Obama held to account, I agree with you. Especially because it would further inflame the racial tension in the U.S. (which Obama has encouraged, IMO).

Nothing good can come of that.

However, perhaps some legislation to ensure that a presidential candidate is a natural born citizen would be a good idea.

I don’t know if that has to be a Constitutional amendment, however.
