The hunt for food started at 4 a.m., when Alexis Camascaro woke up to get in line outside the supermarket. By the time he arrived, there were already 100 people ahead of him.
Camascaro never made it inside. Truckloads of Venezuelan troops arrived in the darkness, arresting him and nearly 30 others seemingly pulled from the queue at random, according to his lawyer. Camascaro, 50, was charged with violating laws against interfering "directly or indirectly" with the production, transportation or sale of food. He has been in jail for three months, awaiting a hearing.

away our guns
We have had this discussion at home. I dont want to elaborate but I am sure many Patriots have had the same talk.
We find out through FR and similar that many are on the same page.
And I pray it will not come to that. stay positive be vigilant.

Don’t misread me, I’m not suggesting we need to intervene.
I agree and share the empathy. I know the people in Venezuela are not the only ones in the world in that situation either. Being acquainted with people in the line of fire just makes it more personal. It’s like the difference in saying our nation needs to go to war over something without a kid in the armed forces and saying we need to go to war when your kid is one trained and ready. And as of yesterday its not just a kid but my granddaughter #2 had her first day of boot camp in the USAF.
I just pray and keep up with the news. Keep my family as prepared as possible. What more can a crochety woman approaching middle age (lol) do?

So, why have these laws when there is little food to produce, transport or sell.

The lesson for the 'Never Trumpers' - first the progressives came for the health-care system and you kept quiet.
Next, they're coming for our guns.
After that, they can take our food.

Wendle is right that the only thing we can do is look away if it bothers us. I'm not saying he's wrong. I'm saying it's coming here. We are not insulated from this kind of problem.

The government is working on controlling the distribution of food and has too few thugs to stop mass protests if and when they occur like they did the other.
So the only option is to descend on small crowds and make arrests I guess.
The government organization in Venezuela that distributes food has an acronym, CLAP.......
People who speak English can get a laugh out of that.

After reading the article, it appears that Venezuela has made it illegal to stand in line at a grocery store outside of normal business hours. Would there be any more, or less food if they stood in line during normal business hours?

I try to read Atlas Shrugged once every other year if my reading allows but I want to see your take on it.

Hollywood couldnt write a better apocalyptic script.
People immerse themselves in The Walking Dead or The Hunger Games, which are fiction, while the real thing is happening right now in Venezuela.

I agree. If we vote in socialists then we have to live with the ramifications of doing so...like gun control, censorship, and rationing of food, energy, etc.

Every caring and thinking Patriotic American should read The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. It will give you an insight into the world of collectivism and Socialism that is taking place right now in Venezuela.

If there is any one thing that has convinced me that liberals are unhinged, it is the failure of the continual, never-ending, predictable result of socialism to register with them.
They are blinded to it by their twisted ideology.
