Former Secretary of State Colin Powell reportedly had some harsh words for Donald Trump, calling the Republican nominee a "national disgrace" and an "international pariah," according to personal emails seen by Buzzfeed News .
In an email sent June 17 to Emily Miller, a journalist and former aide to Powell, the former secretary of State also said the Republican nominee "is in the process of destroying himself."
"No need for Dems to attack him," the email said, according to Buzzfeed.
"Paul Ryan is calibrating his position again," he said of the speaker of the House.
Powell also slammed the Republican nominee for promoting the birther movement regarding President Obama.
“Yup, the whole birther movement was racist,” Powell wrote in an email from Aug. 21, 2016.
“That’s what the 99% believe. When Trump couldn’t keep that up he said he also wanted to see if the certificate noted that he was a Muslim,” the email said.
“As I have said before, ‘What if he was?’ Muslims are born as Americans everyday,” Powell wrote to his former aide.
In another email from July 21, 2015, Powell said Trump had "no sense of shame," in response to an article about Trump giving out the cellphone number of Sen. Lindsey Graham. Powell also called it a "celebrification of society."
I so wanted to like this man.

Actually, if I were Trump, I would call Powell - privately, off the record. I would clarify to Powell what I stand for, tell him that the last thing I would ever be, or have ever been is a racist, and would emphasize to him what I wanted to do for the military and for veterans. I would then thank him for his service, tell him I respect his decisions, choices, and allegiances. That’s it. End of story. Maybe that’s pointless, but Powell is so far off the mark that I feel someone has to remind him that it was a Republican President who trusted him.

The new email dump this afternoon has some gems about Colin Powell.
Colon is looking might pale there.
Powell’s Kuwait war plan was for a frontal assault against fortified positions. Bush overrode him and oped for Swartzkoff’s wide flank turn. But powell has had no problem with taking all the credit.

Powell is the disgrace - he always struck me a really dumb and one who would throw his friends under the bus. Maybe I am mistaken, but wasn’t he once long ago invited to speak at a GOP presidential convention - and he attacked the GOP and got big applause?
Hi Colon, you are the true international pariah by lying us into the Iraqi war. Recall you lied at the UN convention Iraq has WMD? You are not only an intl pariah, you are a war criminal should be put on trial and locked up like Hillary.

If I may say so; the colon is an honorable and very important organ; and happy is the person who has a well-functioning one. I don’t know what to suggest we call Brutha Powell. Maybe we’d just as well ignore the backstabber. Just sayin’.
