Cruz absent from Values Voter Summit
Washington Times ^ | Sept. 11, 2016 | Bradford Richardson

Ted Cruz may have won the Values Voter Summit straw poll three years running, but attendees at this weekend’s social conservative gathering in Washington, D.C., weren’t happy with the Texas senator’s refusal to back Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Debra Wagers, who made the trek to the summit with her husband, Ron, from Commerce, Michigan, said she supported Mr. Cruz in the GOP primary race.

“But I felt like once Donald Trump won the nomination, then Ted should have stepped up to the plate and kept the party together, and as a united group [of] Republicans to beat Hillary,” said Mrs. Wagers, 60. “You don’t want to get mad and act like a little brat and take your marbles home.

We did actually vote for Ted Cruz in the primary, but we are backing Donald Trump now,” she said

Many Republicans who supported Cruz initially can see that now the choice is between Trump and Hillary Clinton, and now are firmly supporting Trump.

All need to actually turn out the vote and vote for Trump.

Any conservative who is staying home or voting for third party candidate is effectively helping Hillary Clinton to become president of the US.

Cruz was my mistake. He will be defeated in the Texas Primary by a huge margin. They don’t like him anymore. I think he has a mental disorder.

I had just about forgotten about Cruz. I think he’s getting a wagon and tent ready. He and Beck are going to start their traveling medicine show and revival tour pretty soon.

It is now quite clear to me that Cruz is not interested in promoting anything else but Cruz.

And that explains why Cruz refused to endorse Trump. If Trump wins, Cruz would have to wait 8 years to run for president again. But if Hillary wins, Cruz would only have to wait 4 years.

Cruz is for Cruz.

I’m sad to say that Ted was my preference for the Rep. candidate.
He proved to be one who pledged and failed to keep that pledge.
RIP Ted; you’re done. You’re NOT to be trusted.
I no longer will support his nomination for the Court.
He’s not to be trusted.

The Governor has shifted his sights to Dancing with the Stars and will start his TV career this week. LOL. Good grief is all I can think to say!

Mine too!

One of my friend, is friends with a former US representative who said he was a frickin self-centered brat. We decided she must be a Rino and she was wrong.

God Dang, were we wrong. This aspect of his personality just blind-sided me. Goodbye Ted!

I was running a local petition on sanctuary city & E-verify. Cruz was sitting in his car facing my signs for citizens to help get the measures on the ballot. His wife went inside the venue to let them know he had arrived. He never bothered to sign the petitions or engage in any way...I did not forget.
