The Seahawks have announced their plans for Sundays pregame ceremony. According to receiver Doug Baldwin, they will stand together during the national anthem. They will do so with their arms interlocked. We are a team comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds, and as a team we have decided to stand and interlock arms in unity, Baldwin says in the 42-second video posted at his Twitter page. We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish, and we stand to ensure the riches of freedom and the security of justice for all people. Progress can and will be made only if we stand together.
Does “arms interlocked” supposed to mean something special? Good grief what a bunch of drama queens. Screw the NFL.
It’s all about them. They think.
Good for them......hope they have a fantastic season....;)
"Shut up and play football!" -- Laura Ingraham (well, not really -- but you know what I mean.)
I’m thinking they’re going to show respect for the anthem and show them as being united in that respect. Am I missing something?
Um, OK?
Good choice.
Hey the winning team in baseball jumps around every time when they win a game now. I have no idea why everything needs to so phony these days.
It means that NONE of them will have their hand over their heart.
Will not be watching the nfl this season.
I hope the anti-American seathugs get loudly booed, severely trounced, and soundly beaten.
Won’t miss much.. So many rule changes and injuries these days, take a hike. The dog(s) will love it.
Um... did you read the article? They are standing for the anthem. They are interlocking their arms, presumably in a show of solidarity with America. In short, they are putting on a patriotic show.
Apparently, they consulted with Nate Boyer before doing this. He said a few days ago people were going to be really happy with what they had planned.
I don’t think 3/4 of these posters read or comprehended the article (or even the single excerpt I read).
These guys are trying to do something noble, and they’re pissing all over it. Excuse my French.
Meh, so what. I’m a military vet and I don’t either. There’s nothing wrong with just standing quietly and respectfully.
My response to your post can be found in post 27.
I think this is terrific.
They will interlock arms, which still allows them to put a hand over their heart.
They will show they are one linked line of Americans, united in purpose.
That is very appropriate for the 15th anniversary of 9/11/01.
OK. Got it. Thanks.
No, you’re not missing anything.
Seahawk haters will pile on them no matter what they do.
