A woman recanted her claim that former Auburn running back Jovon Robinson physically assaulted her by smashing her head in a door, causing injuries to her knees, shoulder and face, later telling school officials she lied about the incident that factored into his dismissal from the football team, according to documents and interviews with AL.com.
Emails sent from the accuser, whose identity is being protected by AL.com, to Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and between Auburn's football coach and the university's Title IX coordinator were released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. The accuser and Robinson also signed letters waiving their protections under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), granting AL.com exclusive access to the documents.
Robinson provided the accuser with a phone number to reach AL.com, which she first contacted on the evening of Aug. 5, two days after Malzahn dismissed Auburn's projected starting running back.

My preference is that: 1) domestic abuse would not occur whether male on female or vice-versa, and 2: that lying about being abused in order to ‘get back at someone’ be treated and prosecuted just as seriously as the treatment of the abuser.
All this criminal and dishonest behavior is in proportion to the loss of Christianity in the general population.
And that those women who lie serve the same sentence as the person they accused would have if convicted.
My preference is those that lie about it and destroy other peoples lives, suffer the same penaties as if they did what they lied about. And monetary damages to the smeared victim(s).
A VERY large check from the “Boosters Club” can often do wonders in keeping a player on the team...., I wonder???
And 3) if recanting because you “love him” and other such motivations prosecute and send to jail.
In my guess, she found out her name was already known by the press and she freaked out. But without any real evidence against the player, I don’t know how they can now justify kicking him out.
No, they should serve TREBLE the sentence for what they allege would result. I think there’s not much worse than a man assaulting or raping a woman. And they SHOULD pay for that. But I cannot imaging having to serve time having been falsely accused. That is truly wrong.
Anybody who accuses someone falsely needs to pay the same penalty that the falsely accused would pay.

plus I can't imagine the pressures on somebody who would have the audacity to accuse a beloved football player....
this football player will be at it again....hope nobody gets killed...
Maybe self inflicted, much like those from phony “hate crime” accusations.
This is exactly why I said I prefer that accusers tell the truth. Whether she is lying now or lying before is unknowable at this point.

The accuser said that she resisted the request of the Title IX officer for photos of her injuries because she had lied and never had any injuries. At this point though, we'll never know the truth.
Who knows what the truth is? I'm amazed that people on this thread seem to have enough evidence to make a determination on which version of the story is the truth. But even assuming the accuser filed a false report, I'm not sure it is a criminal offense to file a false report with a football coach.
