These are the first pictures of a new pre-fab migrant camp that has been built in the heart of an Italian tourist hotspot that is popular with the rich and famous including Hollywood star George Clooney. And officials in the town have admitted that the camp could remain there for years. Tucked away on a side street and sandwiched between an empty factory and cemetery in Como, the site is where up to 300 migrants will now call home until they can leave Italy.

I spent a couple of weeks at Lake Como back in the late 1990’s. It was one of the most incredible times of my life and is is absolutely one of the most beautiful places on earth.
How in the world has this been allowed to happen?
I hope their estate is within spitting distance to the camp.
Feel good story of the day!
The camp looks to be about 5 miles away from the Clooney estate so maybe if the wind is in the right direction, he’d smell them or their garbage will float up to their dock.
Odd thing about his mansion is it is only an arm’s reach to the neighboring property which is a bar/restaurant/playhouse and he has to use their parking lot to get to his place. Behind him, within spitting distance, is a big sightseeing boat business. Who wants that as a million dollar view? He can’t walk outside without being gawked at. All up close and in his face. Also, depending on the water level, a good third of his not that large manicured lawn can be under water. He’s obvious not that smart to have purchased such a place. This could be why he’s never there causing the townfolk to be upset because he’s not drawing the tourists.
I. Love. It.
Good. Put the rufugees in rich communities.
The current Italian government is doing its best to destroy Italy.
We can only hope.
We stayed at he Villa D’Este in the late 1990’s and it was by far the most luxurious hotel ever. Como is absolutely beautiful and big mouthed George is getting exactly what he deserves.
