Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in a dead heat in Texas in a new Washington Post/Survey Monkey poll out Tuesday, with Clintons one-point lead prompting the pollsters to reclassifying the historically deep red state a tossup.

Methodology sucks. They polled people who were willing to take another poll after the poll monkey poll. Does not match anything like the poll monkey results
But the samples are self-selected to start and can be rigged easily. Texas is NOT competitive, but Colorado most likely is, despite the State GOPe, consisting of #NeverTrumpers. Nobody follows those boys and girls anyway!
No. Texas is solidly Trump territory.
I’m calling this poll a big pile of cow patties!!!
Not. Going. To. Happen.
And Texas has bigger suburbs. Dallas, Travis county(Austin), and Houston, are all surrounded by huge conservative enclaves.
If we don't close the border it will only take another election or two and it's over. OVER!
I kind of agree with you. Our argument concerns the margin of victory. In other recent polling in Texas, Ipsos, Dixie Strategies and PPP give Trump leads raining from 6 points to double digits. Hillary would be a fool to commit major resources to the state. I don’t want to put words into the mouth of the original poster, but his point is that, for all its problems, the SM poll is good news for Trump.

Hahahahaha... TX and NC are tossup states now??
BS. Some polls don’t pass the laugh test. This is one of them.
someone has Trump winning Maryland by double digits? I find that incredible.
Yea Austin — and Houston, home of Shelia Jackson Lee
This is the same poll that has Trump within 3 in deep blue Rhode Island. No way
Survey-Munkey = Ape Shit
If anyone believes Hillary Clinton will win Texas, I’ll sell them the deed to the Alamo.
My bleeding Texas ass! This is pure bovine excrement.
Thanks, Ted.

Gawker was the first blog that I read religiously. I will miss it immensely
Without checking the numbers, I believe Mr. Bill almost beat Dole in TX in 1996.
