(Washington state) Attorney General Bob Ferguson is proposing a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

It wasn't too long ago that WA was immune to gun grabbers. We stomped on an anti-gun initiative in the '90's. But, since then, the demographic balance of the state has shifted. The west side continues to draw in liberals and assorted weirdos. Since we had "background check" I-594 passed by Bloomberg's money and lies (you can fool 54% of the people all of the time), the left feels emboldened to continue on the ban bandwagon.
One thing that's surprising is the left showing it's hand before the election. Ferguson is feeling his oats, only having a weak Libertarian candidate running against him in November. Here's hoping we can wipe that smirk off his face.
ALL weapons are ‘ASSAULT’ weapons. That’s why they’re called ‘WEAPONS’................
Fascist gun-grabbing Washington State ping alert!
Bobbie Ferguson can ESAD!
another anti_American Ahole political hack who belongs in North Korea or Cuba, not USA
I appreciate your right to be an anti-American a-hole, Bob, but how far do you want to push this?
Do you want to ban rope and lamp posts too?
So...if semi-auto’s currently in private hands aren’t affected, and the bill doesn’t call for registration as in CA, NY, CT, & NJ, and there’s no requirement to disable such weapons or remove them from the state, then where’s the beef?
Without registration there is no confiscation, and in the states mentioned, there has been widespread flouting of the requirement to register, and the governors have yet to send out their flying monkeys to kick in doors and arrest miscreants. Some fatso in a Smokey the Bear hat and four stars on his collar has growled & hissed on camera that I’m comin’ to get ya’, but that was months ago.
All the WAAG has done is to guarantee that AR-15’s will be flying off the shelves of every gun store in the Evergreen State.
This is why we need a wall.
Not for Mexico but around California.
They bitch and moan about their state but take their seed with them.
Being a native of a very liberal state, I've always felt a distinct lack of love from my brothers in the Free States. "We" aren't the ones promoting the type of crap that happens in CA, MA, etc., and the vast majority of those of us who rail against it, fight it, and eventually seek shelter in more conservative climes are most certainly not bringing any kind of support leftism with us.
Lots of us FReeper gun owners sympathize with our brothers in the nonfree states, believe me. We don’t think there’s a liberal voting majority in them, quite the contrary, there’s a conservative and/or rural majority dominated by the liberal politics of one megacity in the state.
PA, IA, NY, VA, WA, OR, all fit this model, IMO. Am I correct?
You’re correct; I’d argue the same model applies to NY; with NYC and the Burbs moving the rest of the state leftwards.
Yeah....NO F’n way!
Millions of foreign born have been imported into California and New York to keep them under Democrat control.
The population of both states is about 25% foreign born.

Yep. Those of us who live just across the border expect a run on the gun stores Real Soon Now.
Hmm...you must live in Idaho and not the People’s Republic of Oregon.
I’ve done some research about Hilly Boo Boo’s “Australian solution” for semi-auto rifles. It won’t happen here. Oz has parliamentary one party dictatorship and separation of powers doesn’t exist in Down Under.
Googled “repeal Second Amendment”, “martial law”, “abrogate Constitution with stroke of POTUS’s pen”, “registration precedes confiscation”, “door to door confiscation”, even “asset freezing”.
Bottom line, the government is not omnipotent & its employees are not supermen. This is still America and not East Germany.
The WAAG is blowing smoke. Never pass laws you know won’t be obeyed. Prohibition should have proved that for all time.
Hey, if California can get away with it, anyone can. And don’t count on HRC’s SCOTUS to help out. Bayrack was right; Elections have consequences.

You can post comments on the proposal there.
One wonders why the Attorney General thinks his office has any power to initiate legislation.
