In his article pompously titled, The Courage of Colin Kaepernick, Michael Eric Dyson begins by claiming that Kaepernick's gesture stemmed from a thoughtful reflection on how best to highlight the plague of injustice, and the need, finally, to hold our nation accountable for black death in the streets."

Typical for a leftist who makes his living as a race baiter - and is paid handsomely to do so.

"to hold our nation accountable for black death in the streets." You mean the fact that only 3% of the population (young black males) commits HALF of our nation's violent crime?

Enough. I’m not going to pretend this is acceptable behavior and will condemn ANYONE who disrespects the flag and all for which it stands. We all should.

This guy is not playing with a full deck. He also needs to find another country to live in that matches is needs.

...to hold our nation accountable for black death in the streets."So, it's our nation's fault that you kill each other in such numbers?

I didn’t care about Kaepernick’s gesture. There are a lot of people here who don’t like America, so I’m used to it.
What bothered me was his idiotic statements. He just grabbed overused cliches like “oppression” and threw out idiotic statements he heard somewhere about “cops killing black people and then getting paid leave.” Like some grammar school child, he really just gave voice to any moronic thought which popped into his head, without any research or consideration.
And that was considered “a political statement.”

I am sick to death of people insulting my flag, my country and our history culture and value and then getting RICH on us. Colin is a jerk and he should be expelled from the sports for insulting and offending so many spectators and fans. Let him go play soccer in Brazil if he hates America so much. Damn ingrate!!!

Stats indicate the largest killer of blacks is other blacks. It sounds like other blacks need to be held accountable rather than the nation.

No, not really. There's a case to be made about excessive use of force by the police, the need for better police training and the need for police to wear body cameras to protect themselves and citizens. But Kaepernick is not the man to make that case. I've followed this guy's career since the 49ers drafted him - he does not seem to be a man capable of any particularly deep insights or wisdom. He seems to be a follower, who parrots the views and statements of others. His campaign, such as it is, consists of refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem, and a lot of re-tweets and hashtags.

I am now of the opinion that it’s best to ignore people who do things like this.
Sadly, just as many people give Kaepernick kudos as disdain the POS.
Why give him the publicity?

Blacks are killing Blacks.
